removing fan leaves

so removing a few is ok to you in your grow ?im just asking yours and BIGV's personal exp. with this and do u feel it effects bud quality any? i try the tucking of leaves but it seems like a losing battle like u said they pop back up lol

Any one who gives an answer to this is most likely from personal experience and therefore is speaking objectively. So really, its up to you. We can recommend however and I recommend you prune as little as possible and space out the prunings, let your plant recover as it can stress her out

But really, I think the best way to expose budsites without harm to your plant is to just tuck the fan leaves under the budsites they cover. This does take time because the leaves eventually make their way back to their original position so you have to continue to do it but it is most likely better over all for your plant

I don't prune unless there's an issue with the leaves such as pest damage or if its dead and it doesn't even take a little pull to remove it, I've had success this way

I trust that natural and untouched is the better way because I've seen what happens to plants that get too many of leaves removed at one time or too close together (deers ate a lot of fan leaves) and the plants never flowered. It cut the plants potential to zero

Lol. Just an example of removing too many leaves in a short period of time, and not spacing out the prunings

Deer f---in suck.

It's cool, you already repped me and you can't rep the same person without reppin a bunch of others first

Yea man, bugs are a major issue as well

I've been using Captain Jack's Deadbug which is an organic mixture that kills off most harmful pests to cannabis and it's worked very well for me so I recommend it if bugs become an issue again

Give it time. Most indicas mature between 8-10 weeks, most sativas mature anywhere from 10-15 weeks and mixes/hybrids can be anywhere in that range

A little research goes a long way...
Also, you can tell what kind of strain you may have by looking at the leaves. Fatter leaves point to indica strains whereas thin leaves are sativas. Usually, sativas are taller like bamboo and indicas are shorter and tend to be bushier. This is like some basic info, I really recommend looking this stuff up. If you can't tell what strain you have, you could go by the appearance of your plants. There are many ways to tell if a plant is ready for harvest. Here's a good read about it: https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/210501-zeuss-take-harvesting.html

There's a bit about how your fan leaves may have yellowed off and died when you're ready to harvest but you have to be careful as misinformation has caused this to happen to many new growers before their plants are ready to harvest. I'm talking about reducing the amount of N you give your plants during flowering. The misconception is that plants don't need N or don't need as much N in flowering. This is not true. You will lose out on a potentially larger and better harvest if you don't give enough N in flowering, it's what happened to me in my first grow. I followed the advice of some growers to happened to be wrong and told me to lower the amount of N my plants need in flowering. The truth is that you need to give N in the same amount as P and K until the last month of flowering when you only reduce the N amount a little but and then a little bit more. By the end, before the flush, you should give your plants about half the amount of N as P or K as you're buds will be in more need of P and K at the end of it's life cycle in order to make it's best buds possible. N is still needed. At no point should you stop giving your plant N. Unless you nute burned it. But it's quite difficult to do that when you use organic nutes. Good luck

I personally am the wrong prson to ask about experience with condition A vs. condition B. When I started growing I realized that you need to have a plan to grow decent plants. I read alot from people on hear who seemed to have some respect from others. You will see who is who. Then I formed a plan and I only tweak it a bit each grow. So to answer yor question honestly I dont know because if a leave or a branch gets in my way I get rid of it. Period. You will see who's who and when you do make a short list of go to guys rather than posting a question and getting ripped up for not being a cannabis god.

Remember in the end that you are just growing a weed. How hard is that?

A word of caution to ya. Ignorance is running rampant on here. Before getting advise from someone on here verify that they actually know how to grow weed and not just giving you the same answer someone gave them 2 weeks ago when they asked the same question.
