Ripe for weeks but no amber…any help?

So for those of u that have had to endure my grow and all the questions that I’ve posted, I apologize and pray this is the last time.
I’m growing 3 Super Skunk Autos from Homegrown Cannabis co. (Kyle Kushman’s outfit). Growing in Ocean Forest under HLG 320w led’s.
These autos are on their 17th week…..yes 17….not a typo. And they’ve been flowering since around day 28-30. The way I see it I’ve made 2 mistakes that could lead to slow maturation.
First, my temps were in low 70s and I understand they really need to be higher for optimal results.
Second, I defoliated the plants way too much about a month ago. What started as taking a few big fans to let light through turned into a massive whack job and all the big fans were gone. Then the stress killed off and yellowed most of the remaining leaves. Don’t ask what I was thinking b/c I wasn’t.
Anyway, I’ve continued to feed light nutes (tiger bloom) up until the last watering, at which time I gave just water and I made it very cold…..I was told it would speed up the trichs.
I’m of the belief that a plant needs to be fully ripe before the trichs are considered as a gauge for harvest. Ripe, to me, means no more white pistils, presence of fat swollen calyces, and frosted over.
One of the 3 has gotten that far…..we won’t get into the other 2 right now.
This little lady is not the biggest but is my kind of bud…..hard as a rock and all knuckled up.
I’ve included pics to show it’s progression. First is Dec 20…..then pic with my hand is Jan 5 as the last wave of white pistils had showed. And the last pic is this past weekend.
It has been in its current state of ripeness for a solid 2 weeks, yet has very few amber trichs.
Most trichs are milky white but still a few patches of clear ones. What’s weird is I’ll find a small cluster and half or more may be amber, but the rest of the bud has no ambers.
Overall I’d say maybe 3-4% are amber…..and it’s barely creeping up by the day……if I didn’t examine the plant every morning it would be impossible to see a trend.
So to summarize, I started checking trichs about 2 weeks ago when the last of the pistils turned and the plant wasn’t producing any new ones.
I found a few random ambers.. I’d call it 1%. Two weeks later that 1% might be 4%….just a few more but barely. I’d say the clears outnumber the ambers 2-3 to 1.
Now I can wait another week or two and see how they progress…..Ideally I’d like to see 25% amber. But this morn I noticed a couple areas right on the bud tips, where the trichs look like they’ve been freeze dried. Maybe they didn’t ever exist in the mushroom shape but it worries me that more areas like that could start to pop up.
Any help is appreciated…..has anyone ever had a plant that is clearly mature with trichs that won’t amber? I mean don’t they automatically age from clear to cloudy to amber??
I don’t want speed racer weed….and this strain is supposed to be indica dominant.
I was thinking of putting the plant into 36-48 hours of darkness. Can or should it be put back under the lights if the darkness treatment doesn’t produce the desired results??
I’ve already taken the light schedule down from 20/4 for 13 weeks to 16/8 for 2 weeks and have been at 11/13 for 2 weeks.
The buds are hard as rocks and could do some serious damage in a bar fight. I know they’d probably be potent as hell. But like I said I really don’t want a heady/speedy high.
Thanks to all for the sound advice that has already been given.
This grow is kinda like herpes and luggage….once u have it u never get rid of it…lol. 3756AD67-B954-442C-978D-F9BC1BEEC19B.jpeg 239EB85A-BB54-4D54-BC9E-17C93A37969B.jpeg4D607577-0189-4832-9D4D-96A3D6567492.jpeg

Oh I forgot….here is a pic of the “freeze dried” spot on one of the bud tips. Its tough to see the detail but that calyx doesn’t have the nice stemmed trichs covering it. More like what used to be some kind of trich and it died off. I hope it’s just an area that didn’t produce trichs…..but don’t wanna let my plant sit and deteriorate.
I’ve said it before and still stand by it, but if I had a million dollars for every plant I’ve seen that has grown too long, I’d still be broke! 3EA7B46D-B3EA-41C0-B318-C2C86FA8D509.jpeg

No clue why you think that plant is ripe?
You have over a month to go before it is even close
There are 3 pics and the close up is recent. There isn’t a white hair to be found on the entire plant. Maybe the pic is blurred and the trichs appear like a hair…..but trust me my friend…..no white pistils.

All that manhandling you did on that auto most likely added to slow crawl grow.
Probably true….I’ve tried to not touch the buds. I’ve had to tweezer out the dog hair but I’m as careful as I can be.
I’ll admit to my fair share of any mistakes and misguided attempts at improving things.
i know stress can do a number on plants…..humans as well. Perhaps the cumulative effect has caused the plants to react exactly the way they have.

No worries- its a learning thing .
Maybe start fresh and just let her do her thing.

OK
then just wait till you get someone you agree with on ripeness
cause I'm not that guy
Good luck on next run

I don’t wanna argue….if I’m not seeing something then I wanna know and learn from it. But I know what a white pistil is, and the plant hasn’t has any for 2 weeks. Can u point out what you’re looking at??

Lots of white hairs still have a few weeks to go
Where are u seeing the white hairs? Maybe the quality of the third photo is poor, but I’m inches away from the plant every morning and all the whites have turned light brown/orange. Maybe it’s the trichs that look like pistils but they’re not.
The first two pics have plenty of whites but I only included those to show progression.
If there is something else showing that tells u it isn’t ripe then I’d love to hear and learn from it.
Here’s another pic that may be clearer. Thanks for your input and id love to hear what u have to say. 259A79B8-59FC-4A7F-BDE8-1FB30211DFE8.jpeg

Sorry i'm basically computer illiterate
Ripe plants the pistils recede
Yours are standing out like a sore thumb

I’m not saying you are computer illiterate….I’m am saying that maybe the pic is making it appear to u that there are white pistils showing. I’m telling u and have no reason to lie that any pistil that is growing on that plant is either light brown or orange….there are some trichs that are covering the calyces that might look like a pistil but they’re not.
Your Pic is of a very nice plant. I can’t tell with the lighting whether it has white hairs or not.
But seriously, this isn’t a pissing contest about who’s buds are or are not ripe. I’m an old school fella who hates to see these new growers chopping plants with tons of white pistils and a few amber trichs on their sugar leaves. I would never pull a plant willingly that’s spitting white hairs. And I’m betting you’re that way too.
I grew 25 yrs ago and learned the outdoor grow from a fixture in the my grow community…..but don’t know diddly about indoor or Autoflowers.
If the bud isn’t ripe, I won’t pick it…period.
If you say it doesn’t look ripe then I’ll respect that opinion and based on the lack of amber trichs, let it grow on
I’m simply asking if anyone has had buds get to the seemingly ripe stage and fail to produce amber trichs?
Be well and please no hard feelings….I’m too old and docile to get fired up….lol.

You misunderstood
I mean I don't even know how to mark the pic to show ya
Thus computer illiterate
As far as that plant it has been thru somethings but the best way to learn is hands on
Save your pics start a new run then compare your smoke to the next run
BTW handling your buds can make white pistils turn brown prematurely
Good luck
