Amen. If you can help, help. If you don't want to, don't. Negativity breeds animosity and the forums and readers suffer.

I do my fair share of playing and joking, but I don't negate, degrade, or insult those asking for help. If I feel you aren't worth my time and/or opinion, I simply don't answer your thread.

1. don't ask a question if you're not prepared for the answer.

2. no one owes anyone anything. not answers, not praise, not a hand to hold.

3. asking the same questions over and over ironically creates the "clutter" that so many people are unwilling to wade through.

4. there are 50 schools of thought on EVERYTHING. you can't ask half a question and expect a full answer.

5. stickied threads should be locked to avoid clutter that no one will read through.

6. referring someone to a thread (or 50) that is already in progress is not "mean".

7. insulting people's setups, methods, equipment, etc. is not helpful.

8. lashing out at the entire community because your repeat question went 5 minutes without a reply earns you a spot on my ignore list.

The Internet is about to take the biggest shit ever (Acts of Anti-Freedom), and you guys are moaning about where the friendlyness went? In my honest opinion, this site is friendly as fuck. Problem is the dumbass questions. Why dilute the threadpool with Idiotic things, mankind already has a genepool with plenty of idiot :)

I hope that junk doesnt really happen . What would happen to RIU then . I like it here , this is a great site . Sure would hate to lose it .

Some times I don't feel like telling some one the answer that they seek but I will get a link for them to look at.
And my wife would rather I smoke than go off the deep end drinking...
