Dan,

You're funny. Your responses to me were too much. I needed a good laugh. I'm now seriously considering becoming a Paulite just so I can read more threads like these you and UB make.

This is an amazing thread, When a socialist libertarian dan kone(I don't mean that as an insult, its a compliment), one of the greatest Ron Paul haters of all time has finally realized Ron Paul has this one in the bag..he still doesn't distinguish anarchy from Ron Paul's philosophy but he recognizes that Ron Paul is going to win..I have to say that I called this last year on these very forums, not because I think its the right thing and I love Ron Paul but because it was obvious no other candidate would stand a chance, god bless the Internet! :)

We're talking about a finite resource that by all predictions is going to start to become very scarce in about 30-50 years. If it were up to me, we'd hold on to all of it and wait until the middle east goes dry.
And you honestly don't think that as the price gradually goes up (and it being a finite resource, it won't go down again) people won't start migrating to alternatives? Your oil goes down in value then and stabilises long after the peak price is gone...it's kinda how it works ;)

Funniest part about the Israel situation is that Israel's own leader, Netanyahu, supports Ron Paul's policies.

/ discussion imo.
I don't support Paul's policy towards Israel, but I do prefer it to our current policy. I find it hard to believe that any Israeli leader supports cutting off US aid.

If is completely foolish to give Israel unconditional aid while they are clearly conducting in low intensity warfare against Palestine and all around making us enemies all over the middle east. But it's equally foolish if not more so to cut off all foreign aid across the world. In many cases we get a cases we get returns on that aid which are far more valuable that the aid itself. To cut off all foreign aid is completely naive.

lol. Then he's wrong. And I still have a hard time believing he would say that.

"My friends we don't need you to do nation building in Israel we are already built.. you don't need to export democracy to israel, we have already got it.. you don't need to send American troops to Israel... We defend ourselves!" -Netanyahu a few week ago - speech on the house floor

seems pretty clear to me..

The Video Quote of it + Ron Paul's comments

It seems to me Ron Paul is the only pro-Israel candidate :\

  • WOW You have little faith in evolving from fossil fuels. I think solar and nuclear will take over if we let it. Hybrid cars are going a long way on a gallon. Pair that with a hydrogen engine and we will be off fossil fuels for the most part. It can happen. If we can spend money blowing things up; we can spend money to put the R&D in to making alternative energy a reality

Yeah, solar is GREAT if you want to run a laptop. Try to run a refrigerator, air conditioner or bigscreen TV and you are shit out of luck. Solar sucks at night too!

Solar isnt ready for prime time yet. Hopefully one day we can transition to use it for significant power generation but it is too new right now.

How about we dig up and use the coal, oil and natural gas we need now and then our economy will be strong enough to innovate new technologies. The car wasnt invented and mass produced 200 years ago. We are advancing really quickly but aint to jetsons flying cars yet.

What it comes down to for Netanyahu is that because we are giving them so much aid (although less than half of what we give their surrounding enemies) he is required by our influence and stipulations to not wipe the Palestinians off the map. WE WON'T LET HIM. They DON'T need our money if we would simply stop giving money to their surrounding enemies and then they would not have to limit their un-declared war on the Palestinians.

The US steps out of the picture and there will be little to no conflict in the Middle East before long imo. Not saying i would necessarily agree with the outcome of Israel running the entire Middle East but Israel is a military power to be feared within their region.

My whole house runs on solar; fridge, furnace, lights, computers..everything. Got a 18,000WH storage system so i can even use it at night. Of course you have to be able to produce more power than you use to charge up all those deep cycle batteries for nighttime, but if you really make excess, the power company buys it all and sends you a check.

If Israel goes to war with Iran/Palestine they'll have more to worry about than an armed militia in a desert,
I'd be willing to bet that the Russo-Chinese alliance would be quick enough to tell Israel where to go.

How much did your setup cost, if you don't mind? Sounds badass.
