I wanted to take a pic of the turns that the ducting takes. The drawing I put up earlier shows exaggerated 90 degree turns when in reality the turns are more tame.

Nice pictures! You're right about those turns

Other than that I've been told to put digital ballasts going up an down but I've never done it so fuck it haha can't wait til they explode!

Everything is looking great. Your pictures inspired me to build my first grow room, after just wanting to be a caregiver for my wife, now I have a 15x4'6"flower room with 3 1000w (2hps/1mh)cool tubes and a 8'x3'8""x4' veg room with 1 eight bulb t5. I am doing aqua pods, 5 gallon buckets. Running a full line of general hydroponics nuts, am really going for high yeild. Going to do super cropping and lst, will only grow 7 in veg and 7 in flower. Hope to be pulling 2 plants every 3weeks. All ready have 2 bubba kush and 1 super lemon haze clones that have been under a 8 bulb t5 for two weeks now. I am going to veg for 8 weeks and hope to flower for 8-9 but that is in a perfect world. Also have two sleeve stack x skunk that were given to me that are going to start flowering tommorow under 3000 w. These plants were neglected so I have been trying to train them the past 2 weeks. Hope to pull at least a qp per plant on these two.

I am so glad I seen your post and just said screw it, why not me too. Now I sit and watch the girls in amazement and dream of the day that We will be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Disclaimer: yes I have never grow a single plant, have just started researching this 2 months ago and am way out of my league (and may sound like I am talking crap)but even a blind pig finds a acorn occasionally .

I wanted to do a journal but just worry about completing it. You see alot that start and never finish, figured I would share the results. The wife is out of town with the comp so have to wait to post some pics

on the pic "air to hoods pulled in from adjacent room", it shows that big length of ducting that is kind of hanging......

-you want ducting runs AS SHORT as possible to increase fan efficiency. Some ducting needs to be extendable,..like pieces between 2 lights that might be set at different heights at different times but otherwise, if the ducting is stable and wont need "travel", stretch it to it's max length before making end connections. Also,...mount it up tight to the ceiling, neater.

other than that, for your first room, you're starting this game in style bro. Grow 'em Up!!

It really looks great.
Keep it clean.

I only grow in soil outside and don't fert much, but these are my rec's:

Get some mycorrhiza. I use Plant Success:

It just works. I use it on my whole yard, not just weed plants. All I can say is, KABOOM!

Get some nematodes and add them to your soil right now. They kill all kinds of larva that eat your roots.


don't over fertilize
don't over water
Those are the two biggest n00b mistakes.

I'm sure it has been said, but do not flush. You can stop feeding nutes the last couple weeks, but do not flush. It stresses plants.

You may need to buy a table top trimmer, it looks like you are going to crush it right off the bat.

How much did this cost you to build just the rooms no lights or nothing, I'm looking into getting something like this but I'm not sure if I should just go with a tent online.

  • The room only cost a few hundred to do. I would of preferred a tent but the wife wanted it to be a separate area that we could close off. For cost it is better to go the tent route but I do like my room, I have it set up so I can easily put 2 more 1000w in when I am ready. But I did have to also build a separate veg room. Included is a few pics of my veg set up, my garage before I put in my rooms and one pic of one of my sleesestack x skunk. I got this plant as a teenager ready to go to flower so did some lst to try to maximize to yield, she has been in flower for 5 days. I also smile when I say I have never been in a grow room before except mine (ever), have yet to grow one plant and dream of the day I smoke my own..

Prob right around $700 so not much different than a good tent... A little more for the door because it is custom.

hey Trouser, thank for stopping by.

Im just learning as I go man, I actually just changed up the flow of my lights and ducts to optimize as budbro suggested. Glad iI did.

I don't think I have over nuted. I do think I've overwatered.

mycorrhiza & nematodes, gotcha will stop by my local stor tomorrow.

im not going to flower all at once. I'm gonna do 2 a a time and then replenish my plant count in the veg room.
