hey all,
grown in soil once before many moons ago, currently in my first hydro flood and drain set up and every thing is going ok.
set up is as follows for seedlings:
- light cycle 19/5
- seeds/clones in rockwool - 100 x 50 pvc rectangle with 38mm holes drilled for rockwool
* once rooted 2 flood cycles, 20 min after lights on and halfway through light cycle, drain is gravity so 1min flood on for pump there after it drains*
- seedlings in 3"netpot with super course perlite as medium around the rockwool- 100 pvc pipe end capped and sealed then top is cut off to mount multiple 3" netpots
* week 2 - 6 floods spaced evenly through out light cycle *
- 12l res ph'd and hydro nutes to suit seedlings (130ppm , will dial it in when i can, water is 25ppm)
- each full 12l res gets 30ml of 50% H2O2 each month, with 2 weeks in no algae/ root rot issues far as i can tell
- note: best way to describe the set up for how roots are housed is as a dwc that floods 1 min and is drained most of the time, will need to dial in number of floods as i go but will have a small reserve in the flood chamber/tub once i'm out of seedling growth in veg/flower.
i have had nute lock out due to low res temps 14-15c deg, recovered and ok growth now just slow, so just trying to get everything in shape as i've already had that set back.
Question:
so both the inside of the pvc chambers are exposed to light and just confirming if this is an issue ( no algae/ root rot due to H2O2 use) as the roots would be exposed to light and i dont want reduced root/plant growth?
any help is appreciated.
thanks
