Hi Everyone,
My last grow went quite well using General Organics. I switched to NFTG #2 and nutes this round...and WTF is going on? A lot of yellowing and little growth in a couple weeks. Did a half light feeding a few days ago and full yesterday. Bags and soil were never wet. Per NFTG’s guidance since Cal based, my water PH has been 6.15 and 6.35. Slurry test = coco @ 6.8ph.

Is this coco? Seedlings do not need nutes. I run NFTG. Use as little as possible. When I use less the plants are healthier...
 
Yeah in coco. I think I figured out the issue was PH. I dropped it to 5.95 water only and things are looking better. Agreed, I never nute seedlings. This time I switched to all NFTG coco#2 and nutes. I’m running a line of exotics and they started to yellow quickly w slow growth. So, I gave a light feeding at 6.15ph and seemed to not help...

what do you keep your PH at with NFTG? Do you follow their suggested higher PH?

What size pots are these, 1 gallon? There is good reason to start small and pot up a few times to your final pot. Helps build a healthy root ball which then expands out when potted up. That doesn't happen when starting the seed in the final pot.

Email the customer support at NFTG. They are good about responding. They have a growing guide that can be emailed to you also have support/forum website for people using their products.

Have heard that Scott (owner) uses coco. Probably able to find info from them.
 
Don't use organics in hydro. There's tons of threads like this with the same issue. Nutrient incompatibility. You can't use organics intended for dirt in hydro and expect good results.

Thank you for the advice. I did that and will post any feedback.
 
I did a flush since growth has been so slow. Plants look relatively healthy. Did slurry testing and have the coco averaging 6.5ph coco ph. The leaves are droopy due to the flush. Seedlings planted directly almost 4 weeks ago! Any ideas? Thanks everyone

Yes!
Put the NFTG on the shelf, get you some Jack's 321, feed between 0.8-1EC @ 6.0 PH fully saturating the coco until runoff matches what you're putting in. Wait 24 hours. Return for further feeding instructions. :bigjoint:
Or.. dig 'em out and drop 'em in soil.

I know. Not what you want to hear but the majority of attempts at organics in coco don't fare well. I could show you my attempt at NFTG in coco, growing a very forgiving BubbleGum strain but, it would make us all sad.

I've used NFTG since 2015 when it became legal for me to grow in Oregon

The first year I only used Gaia Mania, Medusa's Magic, and Herculean Harvest
