Round 2 - Its about time. A [Soil - CFL - Closet] Grow

Haha yeah, I will definitely do some reading before proceeding to clone.

The plant under the reflector, Chi, seems to be growing faster up top, since the lights directly above it, about an inch maybe inch and a half away... temp was at 88 degrees halfway before lights go off... so I dont know how high they will be when they do go off... but the temps seem to be relatively constant, hitting the same highs before lights go off, and dropping to the same temp when they do go off... I will check the hygrometers max/min temps later to see if it ever strikes 90 degrees, so far it hasn't since I fixed the setup wayyyy back.

oh yeah, I forgot to mention...

GreenWeed420, that stealth vent you mentioned with the hoses and fans, seems like a good idea... but what kind of fans will I need, and is there anywhere I could purchase the supplies to build it? I think I may try it out... I have a picture in my head, just don't know where to get the hoses and fans.

Haha I had a crazy idea last night, about hooking a maybe 8ft hose from my face to under the door in the closet while I sleep, that when I breathe out some decent sized pours open, and push the air into the hose, and when I inhale, those pours leading to the hose seal up, and pours on the side of the mask open, so I breathe air from my room... so I just put it on when I sleep, and breathe all the CO2 into the hose, which eventually will start flowing into the closet, since it will take more than a dozen breaths to even start building CO2 in the hose... but an all night sleep of it should make somewhat of a difference... but that would just be too crazy to do... having some ghetto rigged mask on at night haha, but I could make it, I know exactly how, the only thing I would need is a hose, or tube of some sort.

lights are still on 45 off 15.

that is what greenweed420 told me to do... theyve been like that for at least 2 days now, every hour they go off then on... actually I just realized thats kind of bad... CFLs get less bright each time they go on and off... do you suggest 18/6? or 16/8? I gotta give em some offtime... Beta and Chi are both growing 6th/7th node... all the plants have had noticable growth since earlier.

ive NEVER heard of timeing the lights like that every hour .. i wud suggest 18/6 u want the light on as much as possible while ur vegging bro .. 6 and7 nodes! sweeeeet!! u gunna top em soon? GL!

Hahaha... I will change it... damn I hope all these lighting changed doesnt fuck them up ... I am planning on germinating 3 new bagseeds, sour apple and start them off fresh... so I am keeping 18/6 for a very long time now haha, no more hour changes til flowering...

I still need to go to Lowes and get new better soil.

how do you suggest I top them? I have never topped before...

it wont hurt them a bit, times on or off only matter when you are budding.

Alright awesome, good news... I just wasn't sure, and I am a little less worried about the temps now too.

I will try to get new soil tomorrow, and start germinating tonight, so I can start some fresh plants off in something other than MG. Its supposed to rain tomorrow, so the soils inside Lowes right? they dont have it outside or anything right?

MG really does turn out bad results... every set of new leafs turns yucky after a skinny minute.

Do you know of a brand of soil that you are sure most to all Lowes stores will carry?

and you also suggested potting the seeds in the pot it will stay in for the entire span of its life, so no transplanting, I will try to find 3 things big enough... how many bags of soil would you suggest I buy? I am not sure how much soil it will take a full plant to grow in for months...

alright... I know I am supposed to keep the plants away from the ground because its cooler... but I moved one of the sprouts to a corner about an inch above the ground, just to experiment it will make the main setup 3 degrees cooler, I moved the gooseneck down there too, so the plant is getting 10x better light than before, and pretty much the airflow on the main setup is better and more condensed.

The one cup that has 3 sprouts in it... well you know cant have 3 things growing in 1 container, so its about coming time to kill 2 of them off... any suggestions as to which 2?

the cup with 3 sprouts in it was watered well earlier as well, 01/07/08 - I still gotta name those... week old now.

I think Chi is actually on the 6th node right now, I haven't recounted beta yet... and alpha still looks like crap... slight slight growth but very deformed.

the new plant growth coming from the top cut 90 percent of that off at a 45 degree angle with a clean razor or siccors or something.... ull get multiple top colas

When should I top it? I have a razor, but im sure its not sterile... how should I clean it?

u can start fimmin at the 4th node if awnted! just dpends on how many heads u want and how much room u have bro ... just take alcohol or peroxide and wipe the balde with it ... then ur done! .. tell me how it goes! GL!

Yeah dude. If your asking about buying rubbing alcohol just go to your local grocery or convenient store you can definitely buy it, and it's pretty cheap. You can also use isopropyl alcohol and salt to fill your piece / shake / rinse clean. Cheap alternative to 420 cleaner or whatever else is on the market.

I do know my shit, I have grown before. Just because I don't shop like anywhere, doesn't mean I am a minor. I have never had to buy rubbing alcohol or isopropyl (spelling?) alcohol. So not only do I not know where to buy it, but I don't know if theres age restrictions on that stuff... it is poison if you drink it after all... I wouldn't think they would sell it to a minor, I was not even sure they would sell to an 18 year old. Fuck you can't even buy a fucking lighter at a gas station anywhere around here without ID... dead serious. These days theres restrictions on everything, so excuse me for not knowing how old you have to be to buy the shit.

I left school, DROVE 6 miles home for an hour, chiefed for a bit, got a paper signed and went back to school in time for AP Calculus AB. I skipped AP Environmental Science, blow off class. Went to school and pretty much spend the rest of the day arguing with the councilor because he wont fucking get me out of German 1, a fucking freshman class, for College Algebra, and then I got in trouble for leaving without a pass... I will have detentions or ISS, not sure... I was straight up with them and told them I just decided to leave... during passing time before class.

Pretty much I spent the rest of time I was at school going to class for a few minutes and then getting called to the office again, making a huge scene in front of our really small class, like 10 people... man if I get ISS, I will be like the first kid who was in Calculus that got ISS, it will fuck me up for the rest of the year.

Try to tell me a 12 year old or 15 year old just made that up. I am a fucking 18 year old.

anyways, I will go pick up the rubbing alcohol later, and some new soil most likely. I usually like to clean the pieces by hand though, to keep all the resin and shit and chief on it later... its taste like complete shit but gets you somewhat blazed, and you can puff on a big ball for hours.

I am going to read up on topping so I know exactly what I am doing, and as soon as the lights go on in an hour, I will top either Beta or Chi, or both. I have never topped before so I am very anxious to see 2 heads growing haha.

By the way... greenweed420, if I am 12-15 what would I have a $500 camera... and how would I know how to set focus and exposure to take better pictures with more color?

and the last picture, of 3 sprouts on day 8, compare it to what the first set of sprouts looked like at day 8, about the same size but the last set was real messed up... this new set of 3 sprouts looks much better.
