He has one vote in the Senate, and that wasn't even enough to stop Trump from building a ridiculous fence.

How does one act in the presence of such concentrated power?
In concert with others.

Has Trump built that fence across the border? Last I saw, his efforts are constrained to "replace and repair 250 miles of fence" and even that is tied up in courts.

Do you play chess? The King is one of the weakest pieces for a reason. I'd put the position of Senator at the level of the bishops.

Just so you know
and yes it is copy and paste, but you should understand the power ONE senator can hold.

In the United States Senate, a hold is a parliamentary procedure permitted by the Standing Rules of the United States Senate which allows one or more Senators to prevent a motion from reaching a vote on the Senate floor. If the Senator provides notice privately to his or her party leadership of their intent, then the hold is known as a secret or anonymous hold. If the Senator objects on the Senate floor or the hold is publicly revealed, then the hold is more generally known as a Senatorial hold.

I said it was one of the weakest. Pawns are the weakest.

The king is constrained in how it can move. It's not a good defensive of offensive weapon. Other pieces are better for that. Also you can lose one of those pieces strategically, which makes them even more powerful.

Cool story.

He's still not "one of the MOST important people in the world". Not even close.

If the world were a chessboard, Sanders wouldn't even be the button on the time clock.

You must not be a very good chess player. Pawns becomes queens or any piece besides a king.
there are no weak pieces only sacrifices. The only piece you cannot sacrifice ..is the KING.

When a pawn becomes another piece it is no longer a pawn.

Sanders could do a lot of good in his position as Senator and hasn't. In my opinion that's worse than simply being powerless.

Yes if we are listing top ten most powerful, US Senators aren't among them.

Among the 7 1/2 billion people alive today, those 100 senators would be near the top in terms of ability to effect change. With all that power and influence available to him, Sanders hasn't accomplished anything of note. My guess is because Senators have to work with others to get things done and Sanders isn't that kind of person.
Nobody likes him.

Bernie is leading the polls going into Iowa and the "children of the corn" have yet to speak! America is still hungry for change and this is reflected in Bernie's poll numbers, it also wants stability and a return to normalcy and the is reflected in Joe's numbers. The next democratic nominee and their running mate must address this dual concern of a return to normalcy while changing the way government works and cleaning up after Trump's mess.

The king is like Trump, useless but it must be protected at all costs, republicans are like pawns, Mitch is their bishop

You're so triggered by Sanders winning you spread it across 5 different threads that haven't been updated for months
Aggregate of many polls say its a toss-up between Biden and Sanders in Iowa. I predict Bernie, though, because his support is strongest among white people and Iowa is lilly white compared to the rest of the country. Also predict accusations of "rigged" by Sanders cone heads if Biden does take it.

The weeping and wailing among your kind will be sweet when the primaries head into the south.
