SayWords 1st grow, seven plants

and USKS, bending them over like that is low stress training. check the growfaq for it. topping your plant is high stress training, because the plant goes into a little shock period and needs to heal and bla bla bla but just bending them over doesnt put them in shock at all and will increase yield similarly to topping. it promotes more growth on the bottom of the plant by giving more light and air circulation down there

i wonder why i think that by spending hours reading things on riu that when i go look at my plant it will be ready to harvest? i think the more i read the faster it'll grow.

i just hit up the homie that i took these plants from and went in his back yard and grabbed 12 more seedlings! they're from the same batch as my plants, but because they were outdoors this whole time, they're between 3 and 8 inches tall still and very skinny and shitty lookin. so hopefully i will make something wonderful out of them. they look super horrible since i transplanted them into party cups, so i'll wait to take pics for a day or two to let them look their finest.

and doctor cannibus, yes the hps comes with a digital ballast, reflector, timer, and whatever else. i'm super psyched to get it

Yeah I could see that crib feinitely has some potential. Problem is, what happens when the plants get taller than the height of the crib, you gonna have to find a way to add on to it.

fuck i typed this whole thing but it got deleted before i posted so fuck. anyways.... by the time they are taller than the crib i'll have the hps all over them. thats why its to perfect. and i'll use the cfls as sidelighting or something.

anyways the seedlings already look 100% better since two hours ago so heres some flickies. There are a total of 19 plants in this thing, and i still have 1/3 of the crib blocked off. got a couple more cfls today for the toddlers

you're lucky i'm not an insect. i would have devoured that crop a long time ago.

BTW, how does it smell?

well few weeks ago you could smell weed right when you walked in the front door of the apartment. but i put a towel over the crack under the door you know, and it pretty much eliminated the smell outside of the growroom. but inside it has a subtle smell of fresh marijuana heaven

so the seedlings are lookin awesome. theyre all standin striaght up now and have grown overnight. theyre lovin it. heres some flix









yeah the crib is right under a second story window, so i can open the window up when i get the hps in there and hopefully it will vent fresh air in AND cool the hps down to keep temps optimum and supply fresh air. i cant keep the window open too much right now cuz of how cold it is outside

im tryin to think ahead and get a game plan of how im gonna veg and flower, i think i should try to catch the seedlings up to the seven big plants by not bending them over at all and kind of doing like a sog effect in the crib. then i can compare the yield between bending plants over and not. plus im only gonna have one hps so i wouldnt really be able to seperate into a veg space and flower space.

Sounds like a plan about not bending the noobs. Wow there are 19 plants in there, I had no idea....I guess that is one badass crib. You should change the title now to SayWord's Baby Crib grow or something crazy like that. HAHA.

Def keep us updated on your findings. I've been tempted to start LST since you told me about it and also since my lil baby is so young still, but since i'm unfamiliar and new at this stuff i dont wanna f-things up.

haha, how do i change the name of the thread? didnt know u could do that. but yea that crib is a beast. its like 4 1/2 feet by 2 1/2 feet. 11.25 square feet lol.

usks, do what u feel comfortable doing, but i dont see any danger in bending ur plant over. its a little young maybe right now, but it will do nothing but INCREASE yield. it wont hurt it one bit unless you break the stem in half or something, but dont do that.

ALSO should i wait a couple weeks before feeding the seedlings with my grow nutes? or u think i can give them small doses of nutes pretty soon?

i've heard you should wait 3 weeks before the first nutes.
also it seems like people start giving their babies like 1/3 of what's recommended on the bottles, then 2/3 then the full dose... in other words they ease their babies into it.
A lot of ppl i see who have problems like yellow blotches on their leaves'n stuff are the ppl who give their babies nutrients... but on the flip side, those ppl who seem to know what they're doin dont have that problem either.

i know, i'd give them lower doses for sure. and they are pretty old, they're just small as fuck cuz theyve been in the shade outside for a month. i think i'll wait till next weekend. then i'll transplant them in buckets in nice soil so i wont even have to use nutes for a lil while.

its so weird when u think about it. this plant has been around probably longer than humans... so it was growin outside without cfl and nutes all this time...
so you'd think by givin it nutes and direct light 'n stuff this thing should be like super skunk.... but it seems it makes shit more complicated lol

just transplanted all the seedlings into bigger square pots with nice rich organic soil. my hps hasnt come in yet but now the whole crib is utilized. one little seedling i just threw away cuz it was too fucked up. so now 18 total plants in this crib. will post picks later.

oh and i gave up on the fuckin clones. they were lookin SHITTAAAAAY. so i took the light out from there and put it in the crib with the rest.

hell yeah. thanks for the enthusiasm. its a 600w. the only problem is that im gonna do a sea of green with the seedling because of space constraints. they're in their final containers, which are only 1 gallon, but im excited about it. i got some mylar, a ph testing kit (liquid drop kind) and stufff so im pretty much DONE buying stuff for my grow. finally. herer's flix







this plant is bushy as fuck. i dont know if i should trim it or just let it do its thing. any suggestions anyone???

Nice job maximizing the space. Very smart using square pots! So many folks use round ones and it wastes sooo much space.
