SCHMAND WEG

Just wanted to let you all know a product I have found for cleaning your bongs.

SCHMAND WEG

I mixed 2 teaspoons into 1litre of warm water and soaked my bong rig and flower bowls.

each soak was 5 mins long followed by a renew of solution and a second 5min soak followed by rinsing.

Bong first and then flower bowls.

(I believe the flower bowls due to dirtiness would require an over night)

I’ve posted this information due to the cost of ISO increasing due to requirements for covid19 products that are using it.

pics of bong are before soaking
During first soak
During second soak
And then after rinsing.

Looks good. I use ZEP citrus degreaser, dilute it a lot, and just drop all my glass in there. I usually just do it overnight, rinse the pieces under hot water, and that's it. The beauty is you can reuse the diluted solution indefinitely, it doesn't even go bad as nothing can live in it. The solution I keep in a plastic Folger's coffee container is black and still works like charm. I bought a gallon about 7 years ago, and it is still half full. Super cheap, about ten bucks at Home Cheapo...

Before this disappears, I am induced to wonder why this product is called “ sour cream away”. Schmand means sour cream. Other synonyms exist; my family of southern origin called it Rahm.

Perhaps German smokers use it as slang for bong/pipe grunge, but I don’t know.

Yeah, 5 minutes is way too short. I’d soak those bowls overnight and challenge residual scum with a brush or swab.

That would be a more proper trial. I do wonder at the ingredients.
I'm thinking it can't be that caustic , one doesn't wish to injure the stoner customer base; poor business model. LOL. I used to use Easy-off or filch some conc NaOH from the lab, overnight soak

I bought a 50-pound bag of caustic soda about 20 years ago; still have fifteen or so left. We had a Weber grill with enameled stamped-steel grates. Overnight (covered to reduce carbonate formation) with a dash of Ultra Dawn and some light brass-brush work left those grates spotless.

Erm sorry I don’t know. Lol. I’m in the U.K. and the place I buy this from is in Ireland.

Alcohol and salt (acts as an abrasive) works pretty well too and cost almost nothing.

I’m usually an ISO guy and I tend to have a clean and dirty bottle of ISO.

Unfortunately isopropyl alcohol in the U.K. at present has increased in price by Around 400% due to products using it for covid19 applications.

I used to pay £5.99 for 1L of ISO The same bottle from the same company is now £25.
