Did you mix the hydroguard and h202 in the res together at the same time?
One time my exhaust fan ducting came loose from my hoods (happens to the best of us!), and maxed out the digital temp gauge in the room. Was probably 24 hours or so before I walked in. The water temp in the reserviors was warm like bath water. 100 degrees at least. I did what I could and cooled it down, but root rot set in quick, and was already dying off within a few days. Had a 4-5 month vegged plant too.. was going for a 3 lb'er, ready to flip that day. I actually managed to air layer clone 75 percent of the branches before they shriveled up, even though the roots were locked out and turned to mush. Started the year with massive outdoor clones at least.
Anyway, I can't imagine DWC plants surviving in that conditions for days, let alone the one day like that which wiped out my grow!
Like the other guys say, start venting, or get a decent mini split or something. I would suggest insulating your containers too, and maybe your 1/10th will keep up better.
Don't be afraid to bend branches over, and force the canopy into the net the way you want it. They can take a beating, but make sure to work the branch back and forth slowly at first, instead of cracking it right away. Try it before you just cut it all off anyway. I'll even bend them down and back up again if they get too tall. Like, way down and back up again, or my plants would be through the roof.
You could modify a grow tent enough to make it worthwhile for c02, if you really wanted. If I did, I would cut a slit in the fabric on one side, and mod a window AC unit by taking it apart & bending the evaporator coil out away from the unit, without kinking\cracking the copper lines and loosing all the refrigerent into the air. Then stick just the cold evaporator coil itself through the slit, right into the tent, while resting the AC on a platform at the same height on the outside. Then patch it up around the tubes. Add another fan in the tent that blows only through the coil, and cycles the cold air around, butjust inside the tent. Insulate the whole tent all the way around with foam panels. Probably "duct mod" the back of the AC where the condensor coil is too, with one more duct booster fan, to bring all the hot air out through a window, or somewhere other than in the room. Or, slide the tent and AC right up next to a window, making sure they match up as you install it..
There you go, Poor mans custom grow tent mini split.. Solving the problem of regular unmodified window ACs not being sealed, and wasting c02 that would normally leak through the little holes in the fan shroud that isn't being used anymore, while saving big bucks!
