the stuff is just very expensive... that's why I ask. I've used it before. I dont anymore. Not chilling my rez so temps vary from 65-70 which is a bit higher then I'd like. But mainly the reason is I want to maintain the root zone better this round and I felt like my roots last round could have looked a little more 'white' & healthy. Ok, so now that I'm rambling I realized I don't have a good reason....so I guess I just want to experiment and see if I see benefit lol
As for your temperatures... with ebb/flow (or flood/drain) water temps are not as crucial. Don't get me wrong, you dont want rediculously high temps, but it's not the same as DWC where the roots hang in the water all the time, or even in Aero, where the water is sprayed on the roots most of the time.
With flood/drain, the water hits the media, soaks in, and starts to dry out immediately after the flood. this can take hours, but the roots arent constantly subjected to warm temps, just the water transpiration alone cools it a bit.
I used to run both aero and DWC and i did use chillers. I don't use them with flood/drain tables.
Keep up the good work dude.... I'm curious to know if the cost of hyrozyme seems to make enough difference in your grow to merit buying it.
