Seedling ready for transplant?

Hi all, first time grower, This seedling is 9 days old today. I currently have it in a 6" starter pot. When watering today, I noticed a few roots poking out of the bottom. My question is, is that a sign to transplant already? Being I just watered today, should i wait a day or two to let it dry out some? Attached is a few picture to give a general idea. Thanks! J.R.

Just transplanted some 5 day old ones. You should be fine. Just be super careful and let them dry a little first.

Thanks for your reply, sounds like i'll wait a few to let it dry. Curious, has anyone had issues transplanting from the small plastic pots? Seems more rigid and may take more to get it out.

Watch some videos. I just took some from a plastic cup (not solo)

Pretty easy really just have everything ready so you’re not trying to find things with the seedling in your hand.

You’re trying to get the whole lump of dirt out at once. So since it’s not all full of roots yet it’s a little more difficult. Just take your time. Don’t freak out if it breaks up a little.

I wouldn't transplant yet.......don't worry about the roots coming out the bottom they will air prune.
It will be much easier if you let the roots fill the pot......I transplant at 2 weeks.
Here's what they look like just before transplant.

This is how I was planning to do it but mine were stretching toward my HPS so it was transplant or lean over.

@MickFoster is giving you the recommended way. If you can wait for this it is safer.
