will that not damage the cotyledon?Pluck it off gently with tweezers if you want, i do.
No, they're tougher than you think...just dont gouge them with the tweezers and make sure you're holding the other leaf with ur fingers to offset the lateral force you will applywill that not damage the cotyledon?
Great thanks much appreciated should I mist it first? No, they're tougher than you think...just dont gouge them with the tweezers and make sure you're holding the other leaf with ur fingers to offset the lateral force you will apply
I never haveGreat thanks much appreciated should I mist it first?
Thanks will give it a go and update on how it goes.I never have
Thank you much appreciated. You can also just leave it like that, it won't make any difference.
If you wanna remove it, soak the seed shell with some water first, it will rehydrate the membrane underneath and it will come loose easier. You can do this with a wet earcotton. Always be careful that you don't rip out the entire seedling or rip it apart.
Thanks will do.Mist it first to soften the membrane.
Is fine! Leave her alone and shell drop it.
Thanks. Is there a certain time it should take to drop?Is fine! Leave her alone and shell drop it.
How long should it take to drop off the shell came off a couple of days ago although the plant looks healthy it hasn't grown taller in a couple of days either, I'm slightly worried about the blackish mark on the cotyledon? It will drop off on its own just fine. The seed i started late march this year was like this, i think i plucked it off with tweezers when it looked like this and now it's an 18 inch tall big mama so she turned out fine.
If it isn't coming off and you don't feel like waiting i'd just be very careful and pluck it off, that's what I did. My seedling looked a little weird and took awhile to spring up too, thought it was a dud but got a pleasant surprise. They're pretty delicate in this stage of life. But I'm a noob so what do I know. Just sharing my xperienceHow long should it take to drop off the shell came off a couple of days ago although the plant looks healthy it hasn't grown taller in a couple of days either, I'm slightly worried about the blackish mark on the cotyledon?
Just leave it alone, looks good. Might not even come off- its not gonna matter at all just on the end of a cotyledon like that.
