Seeds in hydro

I've always used rockwhool cubes...I soak them in RO water PH'd around 5.5, and allow them to sit around/about 12 hours. Haven't had any issues with them yet. Like ANC said, I hardly give them water at all outside of what water the cube retains from being presoaked. Then once they begin showing roots coming out the bottom, I begin to water the cubes between 1-2 times a day.

Yeah, I just drop the seed right on top. I'll cover the top of the seed cup with a styrofoam clone collar until the seed breaks.

Hmmmm...I may just have to try that myself. It shouldn't make any difference that my netpots are much larger, should it?

No, just add more hydroton. You can add more as it grows as well.

These are cool too. You just use a lot more hydroton.

Yes those are the types of netpots I used, just plain ole' 5 gallon bucket lids.
