Setup advice for 1 plant 4x4 720w LED

Hi I'm going for my 3rd grow and was wondering if anyone with some more experience here could help me answer a few questions about my settup.

Here's what I had in mind

Growroom: 4x4
Light: 720w LED LUMii BLACK 720W LED 6-BAR FIXTURE | led-grower.eu (1870µmol/s, 2.6 µmol/W)
Plants: 1-2

My question(s)
I was thinking of doing 1 plant because I would like to do a monster but would it be better to do 2 in a 4x4? And could I expect the same yield if I'm planning on vegging for 8-10 weeks and flowering for 8 weeks?
What size pot would be good? If I do 1 plant I'm thinking of going for a 10 gallon pot. And 7 gallon for 2 plants.
Also are the lights any good (enough) for 1 or 2 plants? The PPF is higher than an 1000w HPS which is what I'm aiming for!

That light more than enough for that space and probably enough for a 5x5.
I would go with their 600w Pro because your probably going to get the same yield either way.

10gal pot , if using coco , is enough to fill a 4x4 with one plant.

And yes if you fill that space you'll get roughly the same yield. But two plants will get you there quicker than 1 and 4 plants quicker that 2.

If you want to grow a monster then yeah, personally I like to cut my veg time down and have more plants , 4 is my ideal, but crack on and grow that monster.

Four plants in a 4x4 works pretty well with 5 gallon pots. If you are only going with one plant, then a ten gallon pot would be better but your veg time will be looong. You can get by with a smaller pot but you will have to water and/or feed more often.

Nice I think I will, would a 5x5 be even better then?:mrgreen: and is 8-10 week veg enough?

-Strain selection would determine how I went about plant count and time in veg flower. For me, general rule of thumb, the more plants the less veg time required. Less plants, more veg time (ie. SoG vs SCROGS)

-A number of variables go into choosing container size. If you’re planning to use bottled nutes to feed then 7gal is more than enough, you can even get away with smaller sized pots than that as dry backs can be beneficial. An organic/no-till approach I prefer 10gal fabric pots to be the smallest choice without coming a PITA to maintain consistency.

-That light is more than enough, you could probably get away with a 5x5 with that.

Let me just correct myself here because for some reason I read lumii and thought it was looking at a lumatek zues led array. Probably because they're both well known previously in the HID market and I've owned both HID versions of their lights.

Not the light I thought it was . My mistake.

Also you have to buy the ballast separately, this is weird and confusing because anybody else would say driver not ballast, plus it wants you to power what they call a 720w bar light with a 600w ballast, which as far as I can tell only boosts to 660w and won't power that light to 720w. If anyone knows otherwise then feel free to correct me.

So that light will suit a 4x4 and not bigger. But it will be plenty of light.

I noticed that too about the ballast and it's been confusing every since.. I will waste 60w and wouldn't be able to run the light at full potential, unless I buy a 1000w ballast?

I have a lot of time on my hands and I'm not in a rush so don't mind the long veg! Was thinking doing a SCROG

I grew a monster outdoor last year #RQS Special queen. But it broke my heart when she got every pest possible 2 weeks in to flower :( So thought I'd try indoor this year

Your not wasting it necessarily. All LEDs can be run higher than the recommended wattage, just a bit weird how they are going about it.
You literally don't need more than 600w anyway.

I honestly have no idea how you'd get 720w out of that rig as they are not doing what any other lighting company are doing

I'd email the actual company and enquire out of interest.
They are fairly good with communication.

I suggest you go with 2 plants. Have you ever grown out multiple plants to wind up with a runt or a plant that just seems to always have issues while the others are growing along happy as could be? What if that is the seed you pop? With two plants, you would at least have a backup in case that happens or something, anything, goes wrong. And if they both turn out to be great plants, so be it, they'll still be pretty massive. Train each to fill out their 2x4 space and you'll have a hefty haul.

I understand plant count issues but I don't know of any legal state that has less than a 4 plant limit. 4 plants vegged for 4-5 weeks is going to yield as much and likely more than 1 plant vegged 8-10 weeks and you trim a month off the process.
