No, I don't believe it should be a right. You don't only effect yourself when you kill yourself. It can cause great mental damage in plenty of close people.. And people have responsibilities like kids.. pets.. family.

But like neer said, if you're completely isolated from society, have a blast

Death is inherently neither a right nor an escape option, when you die, YOU dont really escape anything,ya maybe the cops via suicide or physical pain/illness but no one escapes death,It is as natural as life itself. If you look at death in terms of personal rights,ya I suppose that it should be under the right circumstances this being A right to end your own suffering, assisting someone to commit suicide is a bit more controversial yet its controversy stemming from the lack of understanding and empathy of the dying persons request, but if I knew someone that asked for my help in such a way and I took the judgement upon myself to clearly see the persons suffering I would do it.I suppose it comes down to what you believe death will do for you in the final state and deciding if your truely ready for it or not.I do personaly believe that death should come naturaly, but I also take into account that it wont always happen that way.

I watched both my mum and dad suffer before they died and I wouldn't want to be like that, I would gladly accept assisted suicide and your family if they really love you would want that. I remember sitting in the hospital car park after visiting my dad praying he would die, it was unbearable watching him he had brain cancer he went blind he didn't recognise any of us even my mum, he was like a little child asking for his mother and then he thought he was back in the war he was aggressive with the nurses and kept messing himself he became all the things he dreaded his whole life. My mum had heart disease and spent the tree days of her life semi conscious and struggling to breathe it was heart breaking and I would never want my kids to watch me go through that. You don't let animals suffer so why humans, if you are going to die anyway why prolong the suffering die with dignity I say.

I think it should be considered from person to person. In a subject like this you can't just have some rigid rules about who can do it and not, some guidelines would be okay.
Paraphrasing here: "My right to punch in the air ends at your face." People should be allowed to do exactly what they want with their own bodies as long as it does not hurt anybody else.

If it was up to me I would set up some guidelines like this:
People under 18 would be disqualified.
People with children living at their home would be disqualified.
People with depression and the like should at least be required to some conversations with a psychologist first.
Mandatory psych evaluation to rule out people who decided on the spur of the moment.

Something like that will probably not happen for a long, long time. We should at least make assisted suicide and euthanasia legal in hospitals and maybe nursing homes as a start.

death is already a right. in fact it's one a few few things in life that have an ironclad-money-back guarantee.

if you can find a way to deny somebody their right to die, they werent trying very hard in the first place.

IMO the gov can piss off if I wanted to die. They only make it is against the law
so they can keep taxing our asses off.

It is my life to live, it is my choice how I go out.

If I want to go quietly then a lethal injection as I sleep, but if I know myself
the way Im sure I do it will most probably be at high speeds and a sudden
hard impact.
