man, i was going to get one of those off of ebay too. how long have you had it on your plants... maybe it is working. I've also heard you need like 6(thats a lot of money) too work well
Used it for 2 weeks and didnt do much then added cfls and had a growth spurt. I took the ufo away a few days ago and the girls dont miss it as they are growing fine. Yeah eff buying 6 of them. save your money and run cfls.

I also bought one of those for 200. I later sold it for 150. I was panicked. I did not want to lose another crop and i already had a 400 watt mh layng around. SO I only gave it time to help root some clones. I was having probs but I am also a fairly novice grower so I should have given it more time. My power bills are huge, It is worth it now I see to run and pay for two ufos If I could replace the 400 watt and the fans. I would wait and make sure you absolutly need a bigger light. I regret acting so hasty, it is just I have a hard time trusting anything other than a big powerful hid.

edit: wasn't it frickin hilarious to turn it on tho? Man it is bright. I have to admit I was blinf for five minutes! Now I run a 600 lumatek and a 400 lumatek. I use cfls to clone. I have to advise not to waste money on leds personally, I guess, in the end. I just wish I had one laying around to experiment with. If it was free I would prefer it to cfls to clone at least. Way cool!

Guys I was a little hesitant at 1st with the whole led idea but there are people growing some nice stuff with them

Irishboy's post https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/218632-my-90watt-led-ufo-tri.html

Really got me thinking it is possible, so I bought a 180w JUMBO UFO and it was 700 bucks

But it will pay itself off with the 1st grow, if I get 2 oz off my plants I will be a happy man

Low electricity bills, low heat, no need for exhaust fans on the lamp so that's 2 more fans right there

Then you need to plum it in and out of the room so more cost on modifying the room, $$$$$

I got a free fridge, spent like maybe $200 for parts and supplies including nutes

And come Xmas I am going to have some fat nuggs

Check it out ----------->https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/239311-growing-whirlpool-fridge.html

I just bought a real 90w ufo with uv and honestly its keeping up with my 400w hps and keeps my room at 80 degrees during the day 75ish at night.i also used two giant cfls for vegging before i got my ufo and they use 65w and put out like 300w each and my plants are doing great compared minus a small ph issue i need to correct.i also have that issue of skunk and the hightimes that supports the same claim.while i agree all businesses are out for the most profit,i doubt two highly reputable mags dedicated to medical growers would put out all these false claims and jeopardize all their readers much needed medicine .my self i have severe chrons disease with bad vomiting,no appetite, and even less energy.im on a large hand full of dangerous meds and honestly even my marinol script doesnt help, whole cannabis is where i get my relief and appetite .im on ssi and have two boys.if i just wasted my cash based on these magazines word i would be very upset.to every one knocking the leds i say try them first.i have and although i want to get another one its not because this one isnt powerful, its because i would like to utilize my whole closet as it is very large and grow about double the plants next time and also some sacramental san pedro cacti .i bought my light off ebay from gotham products it is produced in the usa by lighthouse hydro and it won first place in the annual grow boys competition 2009 in new york where they put it up against an array or 90w ufo shapped products including the more expensive 599.99 models and it out grew them all.it averages about 289.00 in their store but i won my in auction on ebay for much less.i am very happy with it and will buy another so that i can try to produce enough for my mother who has cancer and a few other sick friends aswell .at no charge to them of course

Well Im glad its working for you. I guess the model I got was junk, idk but it didnt work for me. My plants are huge now under 8 42 watt cfls and seem fine to me. Would you mind messaging me a link to the auction that has this light youre talking about? Id give it a try if its really working well for you as heat is my main issue. Also maybe put up a grow journal or even some pics so we can see how your girls are doing.

I picked up 2 UFO 90w Quad Bands as well for around $200 a pop. A couple strains are streaching under the LEDS, others stay compact. The growth is compriable to the 400w MH i have in the next room.
I think I just need to get 4 or 6 more LEDS to make my tent blow up.
Or the 300w LEDS looks amazing.

how big is your tent?i was thinking about getting one, what do you use for ventalation?i think that the two lights would be safe aslong as your tent isnt super wide.i guess you couldnt really over do it seeing as heat and electric usage are the two issues with multiple lights.maybe two on the top one one each side and one facing upwards somehow.penetration is said to be an issue wth the leds but aslong as you keep your plants around two feet i dont think that you would have to worry about it

Yours is worthless because it's a quad-band. Lemme guess, red, blue, white, and orange? Red and blue are the only wavelength spectrums used for plant growth, so half of your LEDs are doing nothing. Look for UFOs with only red and blue. eLoofa has the best UFOs on the market.
