Nothing huh? I have tried the general hydro 6/9 recipe, hg aqua flakes, dyna gro grow with cal mag and epsom, jacks 321 and the old advanced nutrients sensi grow. Maybe I should try some Hg coco specific nutes? I'm not sure. The best out of all these in veg was the advanced followed by dyna-gro grow/calmag/epsom. I just don't understand why I see some people having these beautiful, lush, flawless looking plants in veg using coco and I never seem to get them.

View attachment 3655806 This is the MB FERTS SIDE
How do you like MB Ferts? I just recently got their hormone & vitamin booster which I have been using with a couple soil plants and it seems to be working quite well. I'm currently growing some plants in soil and have a few more in a aero/nft system. I was using Canna's full line on my aero plants but the stuff is so expensive and MBF seems to be very open about all of the ingredients and claims that it is comparable to Canna. I'm thinking of transitioning all my plants to a coco DTW drip system. That being said which products do you get from MB Ferts for your coco grow? Are you using only nutrients from MB Ferts or are you combining them with nutrients from other companies?

Also what type of drippers / sprayers do you use? I've been reading a lot of mixed information regarding which one to use.

And to go along with the question above, what are u doing to stop your sprayers from dribbling when your pump is off? I set up a 24 pot system and when the pump is off all my sprayers will dribble water so i have to turn the water shut off valve that i put in line off so it doesn't happen. So untill i find a solution i can't really set it up to water automatically untill i solve this issue.

Do you have some type of anti siphon dealy going? Ime if you dont the drippers or feed lines can still keep going long after the pump shuts off.

Antisiphon.

How will this fix my issue tho? Isn't an anti siphon valve to keep water from flowing back into the Reservoir? Or am i just retarded and not understanding what its saying when i look them up lol
Much of the time, people's plant pots are lower than the water level in their reservoir. If a pump runs and pushes water through the line, what happened when the pump kicks off?

Same thing that happens when you siphon gas from your tank into a can sitting on the ground; it keeps running until either the water levels match or until air gets in the line, breaking the siphon effect. An anti siphon valve will hold pressure in the line while the pump runs, but when there's a vacuum it will open, allowing air into the hose and breaking the siphon.

My remedy is real easy. The half inch line coming off the pump has a barbed 1/4 " 90 elbow about 2 to 3 inches from the top of the reservoir...pointed back down into the nutrient solution. Added bonus is a little extra aeration but its negligible tbh. What it does do is it keeps my feed lines from still feeding when the pump timer shuts off. Like Tty said...same principal as putting a tube in a gas tank and siphonong. You can actually hear the air break as well when it does....which is all it really is. Simple.

That would work if i was running it to where that would work lol. My reservoir is raised and has a bulk head in the bottom of the drum so that it will drain all the way so there for it will always siphon out.

Make your outflow hose longer and loop it up over the top of the res, where you install the vacuum breaker. Problem solved.

cap the bulkhead and run your hose from the top...or install a solenoid valve inline. on our big systems we use solenoid valves controlled with a 9 zone sprinkler timer.

one more thing i might add: dynagro grow 7-9-5 and botanicare calmag plus used at at 1:1 ratio has been the best veg formula in coco that i have tried. I'm keeping them pretty solid looking in veg with this regimen, no purple streaked stems or pale leaves. That is all...

For every tsp of DynaGro Grow 7-9-5 your adding a tsp of Botanicare Calmag Plus? Do you know what the EC of this is in zero or close to zero EC water?

I'm using 3ml per gallon of each from clone to mid sized veg. In zero ppm water its coming out to around 350ppm (.5 scale). Going into flower i go 4ml dynagro 2ml cal mag ph around 6 the whole way. The place i've done this the most has 122ppm well water, but we are using the same formula in several greenhouses on sprayers using rain water.
