SilusBotwin's Medical Tent

Just a quick photo. Decided to throw the ladies under the 1000 watt HPS for a bit before I flower them. I'd like to take clones from them but I read somewhere that clones should be taken from secondary branches and not from growth tips. I have lots of growth tips, just no secondary branching just yet. Lots of secondary branches but none look like cloning material. Hopefully something clonable will develop soon. I'd really like to keep this perpetual and self sufficient.

Doesn't really matter. All of my clones are top growth tips. The lower shoots never look as healthy imo.

So it wouldn't be too bad of an idea to snip off the few growth tips I have now? I guess it's more important to get going perpetually than it is to get a huge first harvest. Did you lose a considerable amount of yield on any of the mothers you snipped tips from? I'll go snip those whores right now if you give me the go.

No, and the plant will respond by growing more tops. I've topped the first week in flower even, so I would say don't worry about it. Now I wouldn't go and masscre them, but 2 clones from each or something would be fine. Take the tallest shoots, it will help even out your canopy.

Hahaha....go for it, cut that shit apart. Take it from wherever the hell you want. Just for yucks, cut some from the bottom and some from the tops to see the differneces.

Here we go! Looks like I have something to keep me busy this evening :) I can't take too many clones anyway. Gotta stay within my state regulated legal limit. Failure to do so in Michigan causes a grower to forfeit his/her rights to a "for medical use" defense in court. Here we go. Time to wash up and get to cloning. Will post pics in a bit.

Lots of debate over cuttings vs rooted clones tho. No 1 really knows if cuttings count. Because 'stems stalks seeds ect' aren't counted. U could argue a cutting with no roots isn't a plant at all. But I error on the safe side and count em too :)

Took a few photos of my cloning :) Wore sterile rubber gloves and all! Also pictured are the ladies after being impaled. Also, my ph meter is off by about a point, thats why I measured 5.59 instead of 5.5 on the nose.

Lol i've never sterilized anything. Maybe I just break the rules but I use the same sheers I harvest with, theres still some scissor hash on there even lol

Just a small update. Temps have been stable in the propagation dome at 80-81 degrees and humidity is stable in there at 99%. Snapped a photo when I took the dome off for misting this morning. The other photo was taken last night before lights out.

Photo update. Took run off ph samples during last nights watering. Ph is between 6.6-6.8 variating across the 5 smart potted plants.

Took a photo of the roots coming out of the bottom of the Smart Pots. Pretty cool. Also, a photo of the self-topped mutant clone.

For some reason I forgot to ph my clone mist water so I've been misting them every day with water ph'ed at 7.2-7.4 Hoping it won't be a problem. Should I be alright?

12 out of 15 clones have rooted and are ready to go into starter soil. Only the 3 clones taken from the sativa dominant mother haven't shown roots yet. Actually one of them is showing a small root tip just barely poking out of the rockwool. I'm guessing it's just a strain trait that makes it take a couple extra days to root. If thats the case that means I'm shooting 100% in rockwool. Not bad for my first try. Going to rig something up on my mini pool table to get them under T5's. Photos coming after I get them transplanted.

8 of the 15 clones were transplanted into ProMix BX. I left 7 of them since their roots are just barely showing. I'll check back Friday to see if they are ready. Also, got the S.A.G.E. and Diesel clones transplanted into 3 gallon smart pots. More pictures later this evening.
