SilusBotwin's Medical Tent

Got the T5 back up. Hung it above the pool table and lined it white Panda Film. This is my veg section until I get a box built.

Not much to report. Gave them a 3/4 dose of Grow Big, full strength Big Bloom, full strength Voodoo Juice, full strength CalMag+. I'll be switching over to Tiger Bloom during my next feeding.

I had a scare where a small bit of cobwebs from the ceiling tiles got onto the S.A.G.E. clone and I thought it was spider mites for a minute there. I was getting ready to strategize my attack plan until I remembered that I moved some stuff around (including ceiling tiles to get to a good mount spot for the T5) that had cobwebs all over it. I don't have any spots on my leaves at all but I'm keeping a close eye just in case. I'm probably going to give them a neem spray tonight at lights out as a precautionary measure.

The 3 Pineapple Express clones still haven't rooted. Ihad to destroy quite a few of the rooted clones to stay within my plant count. I didn't expect all of them to root like they did, well......aside from the PE that is.

And some photos

Every single clone rooted. I had to give a bunch away to stay in accordance with legal plant counts. They are vegging under the T5's and coming along exceptionally well. No photos of them today.

Instead I have lotsa photos of the flowering girls and even a few macro shots. Enjoy.

I'm amazed that these tiny buds are starting to frost up already, just 17 days in. I took some macros to show. I have a feeling if they are already frosting up this early, they are going to finish out nice and frosty :)

Things seem to be moving along famously. What are you feeding?

Things seem to be moving along famously. What are you feeding?

Was feeding a solution of Fox Farms BB/GB supplemented with CalMag+ during the end of veg, now I've switched to Fox Farms BB/TB, Advanced Nutes' Voodoo Juice and Big Bud, and CalMag.

I've been kind of lazy in regards to keeping this journal organized and detailed. I feel as though the risk and effort in keeping this journal ALMOST isn't worth it due to the lack of people interested/offering advice. I thought about just abandoning this journal for a moment. The only reason I'm still here and updating is for you and Someguy15. The advice the two of you give me alone is worth keeping it going. Thanks friends.

There's 86 posts in this thread already and you don't really have any bud porn yet! Don't worry, you'll see later that more people are following along then you think. The more details you can actually leave in your own journals the better for you in the future. I still constantly look back at old journals to compare progress, look at different strains, and how they compare adn of course just as a quick blast from the past.

It also doesn't help that you posted this journal in the "sub-forum" called Grow Journal Discussions instead of in the "Grow Journals" section. But even with that you've managed 1557 views. Again, not terrible and when you are at 6 weeks of flower and posting pics of fat nugs people will read through all of the pages to see how you got there.

I noticed that you are just entering your 3rd week, are you going to add GB for the next 2 weeks?

They definitely look like they need some N. What would you recommend? I don't have any experience with nutrients, however I have a decades worth of research in my brain that I'm just now putting into practice properly. All of my past grows were just little rinky dink haphazardly setup grows. Whatever you think I should do in regards to my feed solution is what I will do.

Aaaaand some photos from an hour ago. Took some macros under the T5 lighting. HPS lighting does not do so well in regards to showing true colors in photos.

I think I have identified each plant and it's strain, which means the label mixups are fixed now :)

So I'm having some issues with my lower leaves. Looks to me like N deficiency but there is also some brown spotting that I'm unsure of. What do you guys think? The leaves are staying soft and healthy in regards to texture but turning yellow like a banana in color. I'd say the spotting is comparable to rust spots but a bit more brown than the usual reddish hue of rust.

They all look like they're from the bottom? If they are it could just be lack of light. Sometimes the plant will suck the n out and then drop leaves that don't get enough light on the bottom idk.

Can you snap a picture of the leaves with the light off? A picture that exactly fits the plant in the picture from the side at the height of the canopy would be best. (Think looking through the forest perspective)

I know it sounds picky, but flash on with the plants in the dark would be best. Then a regular picture from 45 degrees from the top would be schweet. All of the color on your pictures are tough for me to deal with. In the grow room, lights off, flash on.

I'm going to go back and read some of the details on this thread again. I'm following a few journals. I try to follow those from people I've had discussion with or people who are growing in a similar setup to mine or one I've done, but I don't remember the details on this one. Smoke too much these days to keep it all straight anymore, lol.

Alright, I give up...what are you feeding? I suspect this problem is nothing. It looks like you have a lot of lower foliage that isn't getting light as was stated previously.

Going to snap a couple shots under the white light of the T5 but my camera has no flash. That is the best I can do but I understand the shot you're asking for. They look perkier now since they had a drink anyway so I should snap a couple extra ;) I was kind of ashamed at the last shots seeing as how they were slightly dehydrated lol

Timing was great. Lights went out at 2:00. I just put on of my Y-adapter CFL wall sockets into an extension cord and used it like a photographer would. I hope these work for you fellas.

Any and all opinions you guys are willing to give is much appreciated! I'm a very thick skinned fellow. I don't take anything personal at all. Period. Give it to me like you'd give it to your child.

Looking at these photos makes me realize how much I starved them of N. I was apprehensive with the nutes thinking I would burn them. Feeding Fox Farm trio, CalMag+, Voodoo Juice, and I gave them a shot of Big Bud a couple days ago. I just barely made my way up to half strength feeding with the GB, always full strength BB, and just a couple days ago I gave them their first 1/4 strength dose of TB and Big Bud.

thanks for checking out my build/grow, i'll have to read thru your whole thread when i get a min, headed off to work now, but i'm wishing i had half your space to work with you got a nice big tent there. and your girls are looking a little light green possibly from lack of N as you mentioned but bushy growth and they seem to be doing fine, so good grow and good luck i'll sub your grow and come back to read the whole thing

This is normal. You are following the Fox Farms Feeding Schedule right? Not just the freakin' labels on the bottles? Man, you should've trimmed the bottom 1/3 off of those plants. All that shit under there is going to die and you'll get crappy little popcorn buds from those sides. I don't know why I'm talking in past tense, you should still trim the bottom 1/3 off of those plants.

I'd be careful with the big bud. Fox Farms Trio actually kind of sucks. In my experience, I can't get plants to harvest fully green. I've been trying and trying and while my plants can get there healthy, I can't get them there green. Same strain that I know can finish green in hydro when I grow it, so it's not the natural path for this strain. When I finish them nice and green and healthy in hydro, they come out huge and reward me kindly. When they are yellow and purple and "end of lifed" they come out with a better taste after drying, but not the same kind of production. After a good solid cure the taste is identical.

Anyway, my point is that when I used Big Bud and other "blossom boosters" the outcome was worse. I have bottles of it sitting on the shelf and I won't add them anymore. Fox Farms lacks nitrogen and a lot of micro's in flower. Adding tons of P & K just seems bring things further out of balance.

I hope that you are adding GB during the next 14 days per the feeding schedule BTW. You need to give them their final shot of N coming up. Be easy with it though, you'd be surprised how much N GB has. It's kind of difficult to get it right during this period. I went with smaller amounts of GB this time, but for closer to 3 weeks than 2 and my plants stayed green much longer (although suffering from the cold, so starting to purple now...damnit), but a couple of them look like they received too much N for too long.

I would personally prefer a more balanced flowering lineup than having to do the "nitrogen boost" method required for the trio. It's half freakin' voodoo science until you're growing a strain you've grown many times and have found a 'booster schedule' that works for you. I'm dumping soil after this grow, but if I were sticking with it, I'd find a different lineup of nutrients. This is dumb. Eventually the plants starve out of N no matter what you do. If you continue to add GB longer the buds turn into cabbage and you get the claw. If you don't get it right during the booster period they look fried out and downright fucked up at the end. Leafdrop gets unwieldy at 5 weeks and it turns all sad with shades of yellow and brown.

Right on man, I'll take all the advice I can get :)

I've been using my own formula. Working my way up to a stronger dose. Funny you should mention all of that bottom crap because I was considering doing a semi-lolli-pop job on them. Do you think I should still consider doing it or is it too late for some reason? If so, whats the rule of thumb?

I'm looking at your plants a little closer and they look freakin' hungry. Real hungry. I am having a hard time seeing the true color of the plants, but if it's as light a shade of green as it looks like, those plants will be in trouble in a few weeks.

Bump the feeding up to 3/4 strength...

Should be Water-feed-water-feed-water-water-feed-water-feed-water-water...etc...

BB - 2 1/4 tsp /gallon
TB - 1 1/2 tsp /gallon
GB - 1 1/2 tsp/gallon
Cal Mag+ - 1 tsp/gallon

Are you somewhere close to these #'s?

Relatively close. I didn't start feeding until later in veg since I'm using Ocean Forest. I've noticed that the HPS lights do make them look much more yellow than they actually are but there are a few patches of yellow here and there. I was only giving them 1/4 to 1/2 strength of GB, full strength BB, and full strength CalMag up until a few days ago.

I just ran down to grab my notebook for reference and here it is. Last feed was 12-22-11 and they were fed with 2 Gallons total mixed with 3 tbsp of BB, 2 tsp of TB, 1 1/2 tsp voodoo, and 2 tsp of CalMag. I just watered last night but I've been following the water-feed-water-feed-water-feed schedule. Should I just go ahead and follow your schedule? Also, what about clearing some of the lower foliage out?

Oh yeah, also I gave them half strength Big Bud on the 22nd with the rest of their food.
