Simple question about putting plants out early

So Ive just acquired land to grow on, and Ive grown before outdoors, nothing special was just 3 plants for first time and wasnt a great location just so you know. My question is simply if I put my plants out now, how long can I expect them to veg and around how big will they be before they flower? The last and only time I grew, I bought clones from a dispensary and they were already showing pre-flowers so obviously I knew they were already in that stage. But this time Im going to be starting from seed and so I will have the opportunity to veg them, which im stoked on because the clones I bought from the dispensary were in crappy condition for sure. I grow everything that is a fruit or vegetable so I know obviously what good healthy plants would have looked like. But ya hopefully you more experienced growers can shed some light. Thanks.

guess it depends a bit where you live? foot of snow here at the moment.

if it's warm enough sure you can put them out. the days are getting longer so they should stay vegging? if they were put out now in an area warm enough and the days getting longer they typicaly won't flower untill after summer equinox, when the days get shorter.

some may flower due to the short days but most should stay in veg.

this is all assuming your in the northern hemisphere.

If you are starting from seed in the Northern hemisphere start your seeds where they can be put out mid May to Mid June.

Ya my original plan was to set some out now so I could harvest before or at the same time Im poppin my seeds for this summer.

and ya I live somewhere warm enough.

honestly i've no expirience in your area so i shouldn't have even responded in the first place.

also thinking maybe most of them (half at least) may bloom when you put them out.

whats the daylight hours in your area? sun up to sundown? if you have a green house and blackouts you could get your two crops easy. i realize not everyone has that option, i don't myself.

It works fine and you can use a hoop house if your temps are below 32 F at night. They will go straight to flower right now outside so it's best to vegg them under lights as big as you can before putting them out . Bout to harvest a few I put out on November first. The sun is kinda week from November to March so imho they grow not as tight and slower but the colors are great. The best early crop time to flower is from mid March or April thru May before the days are to long.

This made me think... Is it possible to veg a plant inside for months and then put her outside for a full season?

hey man, the earliest is march 21st or whenever the equinox is.

get your exact latitude and use this http://astro.unl.edu/classaction/animations/coordsmotion/daylighthoursexplorer.html most indicas start flower on 14/10 and sativas are usually 13:30/11:30

minimum veg temps should be 18-21 degrees(celcius) and a min of 8-12 degrees overnight. anything lower than that will shock your plant into flower and takes a long,long time to get back to normal growth and you may aswel start again with new plants. good luck and be careful
