your space monkey 2 pages back looked awesome! i have 2 SM's @4 weeks 12/12. i got them going under citi 1212's.this is my first run with cobs, so far im impressed. hoping mine end up as good looking as yours.

how did you like the space monkey?

Thanks man. Am I correct to assume that Vortex fan is the vtx series? Those didn't pop up for me on Amazon when searching last night but came right up when searching Vortex.

I have the opposite problem, my space doesn't get hot enough with cob so I need to turn that fan down.

Just the standard vortex high output,they are grey colored and probably 5 years old now

@robincnn @Stephenj37826 here ya go fellas,i took some samples into the lab and the chem soda cookies under the quantum/cob fixture tested the highest of the bunch.my last test of the csc a few months ago was under hps and was lower like 18% i think

@sixstring2112 you seem to be having pretty good results with quantum boards. Is the difference in quality and yield vs. Cxb3590 worth shelving my cobs and picking up some qb's ? Not saying totally retiring my cobs, just giving them a little break.

quantums and cree and pretty much equal,but if you had shitizens i would def say park those and get some quantums ,how ya like me now doggy,ruff ruff

seriously though,quantums are great,cobs are also great.i think quantums are easier to build and get plugged in,no thermal paste or pads needed,no cob holders.cheap heatsinks,no heatsinks needed at low power.the square shape makes them super simple to build frames for,they put out a ton of light.but i wont stop using my cobs,especially the lower power fixtures.more testing needs to be done on the quality side with qb vs cob but as far as yields i think its a wash watt for watt.hard for me to tell though because all my quantums have cobs around them.i have not put quantums alone in a tent like alot of these guys have,so im prob not the one to ask on this.
