Yup , he was a good old boy from what I knew of him . I know he had been in some trouble when he was young , but dude fished , and also made a fortune in scrap business as well .

that was definitely all about the money
Googled it, a segouin. I knew Andy back in the day.
I’m further north in st Lawrence county , and late 90s to early 2000s , we had piles of plots outdoors . Anytime someone put a big crop out , the choppers found it . We had a ton of swamps in remote places - so we took 12 inch thick foam blocks painted green , cut holes in the center for a 5 gallon bucket to drop into and the lip to catch - then planted monsters in “outdoor sips” and tied them off to beaver huts , muskrat dens , or any other vegetation they would blend in. It was a lot of work , but well worth it 20-25 years ago

I miss the old school skunk , and I’ve checked with everyone trying to find it with no luck. Here it had a few names , roadkill skunk , swamp monster and even big Bertha “ not so much out of size but how fat the flowers were “
it seems that finding the real deal “1 gram in your pocket and everyone in Walmart knows you holding “ skunk , is the white whale

The stinkiest thing I ever grew was the Quimby. It permeated my clothing and resin on my skin and everywhere I went people said I stunk bigtime like weed.
Growing outdoors one of my best years ever, I grew skunk #1 and a cross of Northern Lights / Afghan x sk#1. It was just a great year. You could smell the patch downwind quite strongly which is pretty much how the Skunkman described his greenhouses.

That’s absolutely gorgeous !! Now is the scientific evidence out there , that states skunk is not a terpene and is a chemical reaction ? I’ve read somewhere that is what people are saying - tbh , if I could find that old school skunk I had in high school , I wouldn’t grow anything else .

I remember one time , I hit a border patrol roadblock , after work with 2 grams in my truck * . I gave them the bud out of ym glove box , and they continued to question me for over 45 minutes and rip my truck apart . Crawled under it , got up under the dash , the hood - they seriously thought it was the van made of weed in cheech and Chong

they really thought they hit the motherload , and assumed I had a false bottom in the bed of my truck or some secret stash they couldn’t find , because the smell lingered so badly. It was literally as if you’d been pissed on by a skunk ..

Yeah it's fatty acids and thiols and monoterpenes to a lesser extent with the ranker stuff

I got pulled over in roadblock with an eighth of Trainwreck in a velcro stash pocket in my shorts. They were patting me down, fortunately we had just burned one and I told him we smoked it all. The cops hands were right on the bag outside of my shorts and they didn't find it. That was one I couldn't believe I made it through. The poor kids in the car in front of us were looking super sad when the cops held up a big bag of mushrooms.

I think we're getting somewhere on the skunky skunks myths and realities. For me it is about trying to bring out the terps I got in an amazing skunk crop in 2004. That year yielded some amazing bud. I am growing the same stuff, but indoors is different and perhaps not as potent. Terps are going to vary from timing of harvest and from each growers signature and technique. These plants had the beautiful lemon lime terps of the skunk x Thai/haze best pheno at week five but they were largely gone by week 8. The dried bud does smell sweet. Classic skunk#1. Beautiful buds. I'm always amazed when stuff is halfway dry and looks all scraggly, and you wonder, is this going to be good? And then it dries and tightens up in the jar and looks freaking amazing.

I agree on the outdoor having better terps and potency , as long as you have ideal conditions and you have a nice healthy plant . Mother Nature is the ultimate grow light in my eyes .

I gave out 3 clones. Now those people are not friendly. I asked them to cull the clones I gave them. I was told they did or would but I don't believe them. My flowers are alot better quality than what they grow. So now they don't want me around. Rest assured they won't grow anything better with my clone. They have 150 clones but nothing they grow is the kind. I saw the ripoff coming weeks ago then yesterday ran into the junky that I gave the first clone to...and I found out exactly how much these growers are dissing me. I didn't know he was a junky when I gave the clone. They can call me names...but they can't grow better pot.
One of these people's vendors showed me what he called sk#1. A little brown brittle non terpy non resinous thing that looked like it would turn to dust if you broke it up. That's what I am dealing with here. A bunch of jealous noobs who control the retail counter space and sell inferior pot. I upset their pecking order so they don't want me around.IMG_20241021_042407.jpg

I am enjoying the upstate N.Y. stuff. A photo of a beautiful upstate N.Y. grow inspired me as a guerilla grower long ago. I heard Mel Frank was up there at one point. I lived in Lake Placid and smoked alot of Mexican commercial when I was a teen. Also where I got exposed to the Grateful Dead thru Brian and Dan Pine at Northwood school.

I am pretty confident you could have a bud of this herb in your pocket and easily get sniffed out. Especially when fresh and uncompacted. Put it in your pocket it squishes and stinks.

Put it in your pocket it squishes and stinks. As this bud dried and is curing the champion nature of the skunk has emerged. I am very sad that I cannot take any foreseeable steps to preserve the line. I am very poor still after lasts years bust. I do not trust anyone to give the seeds to. When my economic situation stabilizes I will do my best with my limited space.

The buds turned out nice. Not my competition grade but getting there. Not bad. Pretty damn good.
For awhile now between jailings I worked on soil mixes and fertilizer blends. Striving for best quality. I also have been giving thought for years about simplifying and streamlining for commercial applications. So now I am going to work on putting as little in the soil as possible without sacrificing quality. And working for best vegetable matter consistency in the flowers as well as striving for best taste and terpiness.

What is your " competition grade". Is that equivalent to my "regular grade" ? Because I don't compete in whatever competitions you grade upon.

My competition grade is my best possible quality organic flower. It has nothing to do with you and a little weird you'd think that. I used to want to compete in the big Cannabis Cups. Now I feel there's so much cronyism in it I wouldn't bother.
I take pride in my flowers. I want people who use my flowers to see them and compare to the sea of boofiness out there in VA.
