Small ACMPR Kush Berry Grow

Planted them in hempy pots today. It took 1.5L to fill each pot to the hole drilled 2" up from the bottoms. 15L in total to fill the 10 pots. So I am thinking if I get 300ml to 500ml of run off back with each watering I should be able to keep excess salts from building up. The nutrient was Remo's Micro, Grow, MagNifiCal and Velo Kelp at 330ppm.

As for the pots themselves, they're 3.4 gallon dollar store specials filled 2.5-3" with course perlite and then topped up with a coco/perlite blend roughly 60/40. I then scrounged up enough plastic tubing to direct my water & nutrient directly into the perlite at the bottom of my pot.

I think this is how it is supposed to be set up but if I missed something please feel free to comment and tell me. This is my first time using hempy pots. I really don't want to mess it up.

Thank you for all the information and detail about how you constructed everything, before I was going to ask; super efficient. I am also very interested in Hempy buckets and have never done them. I think the extra touch with the tubes going down into the bottoms will serve you well! Great Job buddy! I've very interested in this! You've got me thinking now about how could we feed those top tubes all at once, boom flip a switch, hmmmm must be equal amount each bucket.. hmmmm

No problem Johnei. I also want this journal to be a reference for me in the future as well, mostly for feeding info though.

I was also thinking about running hoses off of a couple 5 way splitters. You would still be watering one at a time but it wouldn't involve bending over trying to hit the tubes. I might rig this up.

Yes, this is exactly my thouoght process as well, make some kind of pvc manifold with 'switches' for water flow...

Can have 1 upside down 2L bottle type funnel, and only that one maybe over to the side, and then manifold with all the switch for each pot, so can fill that one big funnel upside down, go flip switch, get the perfect amount, and next one.. so on.. just idea bro right now, I dont know.. and even im thinking that where manifold goes from the top into each tube, make it so it's not 'hardwired' so can still spin plants etc.


edit- Also the entire manifold contraption maybe can be portable, just put in when watering and then remove, boom.

Watered and Attempted to FIM the tops but I may have fucked up one or two or three.....

The plants are so short and trying to find the tops in the mess of new growth at the top makes it very hard for a beginner FIM'er to figure out.

Oh well, if I messed up a few then I'll just top them when I get home on Sunday. I've done lots of topping in the past.

And if anyone is wondering about all the LP bottles in my room, they are being used to prevent light hitting my perlite and roots. Also it should help prevent pests from getting to the bottom of the pots.


Day 18 Veg 750w MH @ 18/6, 400ppm Remo Nutrients and FIMmed today.

Today I came home from a four day wedding trip. I had completely prepped myself for the worst like a fan shutting down or the plants drying out and dying. But everything all good.

The plants are looking pretty much normal for their age and I'm pretty happy with my first grow in many years.

It's not apparent yet if the FIMing that I did four days ago was done correctly or not as I'm still waiting to see if I get multiple tops or not.

I did my first true hempy pot watering today and it took .5L to get the water to start coming out of my drain holes. My pots have 1.5L reservoirs so I added an additional .5L of water to displace more of my old water out of my hempy pots. I was adding Remo Grow, Micro, MagNifiCal and Velo Kelp @ 525ppm. The run off was 370ppm and the previous watering was 400ppm. It took 10L of water to feed all ten plants.


Day 21 Veg, 750wMH 18/6, Remo Nutrients full line for Veg. @ 525ppm in & 370ppm out.

in 525, out 400, then same in 525 and out 370.. shows me they are eating well and are getting ready for a higher ppm food soon.

Yeah they will get stronger and stronger nutrients with each watering until I either reach the point where I am feeding at the maximum recommended level or until I start to see nute burnt leaf tips. I want to get my nutrient levels up fairly quickly.

I'm starting to think that I might have two phenos in my room, two plants are starting to stretch quite a bit more than the other 8. The two that are stretching are also lighter in colour. Who knows, they could be males. That would be awesome to get 8 females and two males.

I pulled all the plants out of the tent this morning to inspect them and feed them. They are doing well but about an hour before the lights go out each night they wilt and almost look over watered and then each morning when I check on them they look super happy. It's weird, are the getting too much light? There's absolutely no way they are over watered each night as I don't water each day.

The FIM I attempted last Thursday is still taking its sweet time showing if it worked. I am thinking that most will be successful but it looks like I may have topped one for sure and another might still have its center stalk intact. Everything was so tight and compact when I tried the FIM that I think this strain might be better topped or just left to grow naturally.

I watered the plants @ 525ppm again today with about 30% run off. The run off was 330ppm today. Next time I am going to bump up my ppm again. I also lowered my light a bit today to get them ready for the HPS that is coming in a couple weeks.


Day 23 Veg, 750wMH, Remo Nutrients full line for veg @ 525ppm in & 330ppm out.

I just love big fat indica leaves.

Starting to smell sorta like cannabis when I open my tent door. Nothing strong very subtle but it should really smell when they go into bud.

I'm regretting FIMing my plants this strain should be left alone or LST. All I seem to have accomplished was slowing down new growth. Oh well, it's done now.

The plants art roughly twice as wide as they are tall and they are starting to branch out.






Day 24 Veg.

Looking good! Aren't hempy buckets awesome! I've grown in 5 gallon hempy pails with 50/50 coco/perlite and noticed very quickly growth!

Absolutely love them! It's my first grow with them and I am pretty impressed!

It's a little more work getting rid of the runoff every watering, but worth it. If I didn't go organic, I'd still be using hempy buckets no doubt.

Watered today @ 650ppm at the full recommended dosage of 6ml/gallon. I also drained out some old nutrient from all the buckets prior to feeding to get a more accurate reading on how much food these plants are eating, the reservoir was 420ppm. I was hoping to see low 300's but I guess there isn't enough root mass to eat all the food I am giving them.

I'm pretty sure the FIMing wasn't a success. All I managed to do was top one and slow down growth on the others costing a week of growth. These plants are better for topping or growing naturally. For the rest of this grow I will be focusing on getting these plants budded out ASAP as I am completely out of smoke and can't afford to buy any......I spent my weed allowance on my grow eq uipment and supplies. I'm guessing two more weeks of veg and I'll flip them.


Remo Nutrients (Micro, Grow, Velo Kelp & MagNifiCal) at 650ppm.

Thanks for thinking of me. I just have to keep a positive attitude that I will have an endless supply in a few months. Good thing Marijuana isn't addictive.

I'm finding it very hard to just let these plants do their thing! First I FIMed them and messed that up. Then I decided to grow them out to get smoke faster. Now today I am thinking of a little LST!

I'm thinking if I LST them I could get a little more weight and more of a bush than a stick.

What should I do LST or let them grow?
