I spent a weekend there 3 weeks ago and was talking to one of the pub owners that did not allow smoking on his premises ( dope that is ) and he mentioned that a friend of his had taken his grievance to court and won. He stated that health issues etc for protecting his employees didn't count as he didn't employ anyone and the court ruled he could still smoke in his pub. I can also add that the weekend I spent with friends there was amazing, just the ability to buy and smoke in public was very warm. Very friendly people and good company made it a weekend to remember and I would recommend it to anyone.
easy dave.
as if people who work in the coffee shops, dont smoke.
of course they all do?.
all the shop owners always have a spliff going when you go into the coffee shops.
I dunno, i live in holland and i smoke everywhere, nobody seems to have a problem with you smoking in their place, i only know of restaurants that dont allow any sort of smoking, besides that from my knowledge their is no ban on smoking but their is some crazy politician who is tryin to ban smoking everywhere and he also wants the red light district to be closed, he should be shot
I just read that article, i gues holland is taking a step back from being the liberated country we all adore, i honestly think making it illegal will just make trouble, i mean to have the right to grow your own legally and smoke it happily without fear at home is amazing, you would never know that feeling unless you live here,I hope none of this actually passes
man that sucks, i have never been there but i dream of the day i can afford to go there just to smoke out in the open with out having to look over my shoulder for the po nine
I've never been there either but I like many have dreamed of a day going some where and experience TRUE FREEDOM. Stories like make me very sad and I can only hope that this ban will be shot down. It's places like Amsterdam that give me hope of living in a society where you really have freedom of choice .
F**king european union. I had such hopes that that the formation of the European union would bring sensible changes to policys and promote the best working models from around Europ. But no. it's compleatly crap.
I want out.
I hope that this doesn't happen, although it would explain why The guys from Nirvana seemed a little stressed resently.
Better take my girl freind there quick, shes not been.
Im going thats for sure ,a vacation were you dont have worry about your stash, its there .get off the plane and buy some fucking nugg.and if I run out I go buy some more. hey babe im going to the store too get some nugg. you need anything?
Amsterdam is great, i mean after u witness a rasta rolling his herb with 2 police officers standing next to him having nice conversation you'll know what freedom is, there are a few places you cant smoke, mostly residential areas and near school and what not, but still, the freedom you experience is more than you can ever imagine, brings tears to my eyes that everyone else cant feel the same freedom, i really look forward to the entire world being the same some day

either way, its the same thing, im not been funny.
i was just saying, most people who work in the coffee shops, must smoke, themselves.
and would be bothered about the ban.
most of the coffee shops workers will lose there jobs, if they become a no smoking zone.
it will just end up like a shop, not a coffee shop were you can have a coffee, smoke and chat.
Yep I know what you mean. I didn't think you were being funny, I just thought I hadn't made myself clear and was trying to elaborate on my previous thread, thing is, I am more stoned now than I was before, so am still rambling
I came back from my 1st Amster-trip yesterday. And what a wonderful travel it was. We must have visited at least 50-60 coffeshops in 3-4 days, smokin everything on the menu Amsterdam is the most liberal place I can think of when it comes to sex and drugs. I doubt they will close the coffeeshops down anytime soon
since it has become such a viable part of the city`s atmosphere, but rather the ignorant behaviour of many tourists that come to Amster with an attitude that ANYTHING is possible, and making asses out of themselves. I think etiquette is important to the natives, and to me it seemed like many of them was tired of the constant rambling of misbehaving tourists.
