Whether it dies or not you didn't plant it there. You have no idea if someone tossed that out there to grow. You are assuming that it's something that you tossed out. All I am saying is if you didn't plant it don't touch it. Hopefully it is in fact your seed and Karma doesn't pay you a late season visit.

Its a randomly growing plant, even if he didnt plant it, im sure it didnt belong to anyone, but it does belong to him now. Like I said, its easy to tell if someone is purposely growing. Look at watering, soil moisture, soil concistency, perlite or vermiculite, empty fert bottles, manicured leaves, LST, signs of topping of FIMing.. If somebody randomly tossed a seed then oh well, they obviously didnt care about it.

I understand where you are coming from, but given the circumstances i believe this situation it was ok to take it.
If anyone mowed the lawn it probably would have been mowed over just as any other weed, or taken.
Im 100% sure no one knew that weed plant was there until it was discovered by the OP.
