Exactly. Something we can all do and embrace. I feel pretty strongly about this.

I had imagined this being possible in my head but didn't know they were implementing it! SO cool.

You are very kind. I just like knowing that the good info is here and hope that as many try this as possible. We can see this isn't just good for our grows but critical on a global scale. Time to dump the fertilizers and get back to the way things are supposed to be and if Monsanto loses profits... oh well.

I have been telling people about it, (no-till in general, not relating to weed) and for the most part people are fascinated. My sister was impressed...mom doesn't quite understand it,,,bc there's no "fertilizer"...I've had 3 buddies ask for the soil recipe.

I think (opinion) that we can make a difference by spreading the word. The majority of North Americans feel that plants can't grow without chemicals, just like your mom, Fattie. Decades of brainwashing and market positioning.

Hey All was reading the Rev in skunk this month and he was doing a gnat tea... I thought WFT Rev. But I bought some CHEAP white wine put it at the base of a plant where the light would shine one it and got a bunch of gnats for tea dumped them in today. Anyone ever tried this?

You the one thing about all this TLO natural stuff is you can feel in your gut that its right and good for the plant and the planet.
I got my local golf course started making teas. Hoping to convert these guys and get them off the chemical tit.

Never heard of gnat tea. Lots of protein for N maybe?

I have heard that the Rev is modifying his practice a bit. Good to see if true.

I have yet to run any TLO or similar program, but it is the way I'm heading. I try to stay organic and figure besides it burning smoother and sweeter your plants know your doing whats better. It only makes sense to start practicing more sustainable indoor practices also. I watched that movie, what the Bleep do we know? Seeing the scene with the water glasses labeled up change the way I think of a lot of thing considering out plants and our self are mostly water. I even put some trippy stickers and wrote nice things all over my reservoir. Every little bit helps.

The most serious, experienced organic growers I know wouldn't follow the Rev's plan. Too much $$ and the program has unnecessary components (spikes, bug teas, etc) but I guess the commercial products he wants you to buy are organic(?), though I've never looked at them closely.

This is splitting a hair at some level. It's not like when comparing soil to hydro where there are obviously significant differences.

And lest we not forget, he has swayed thousands to start growing soil. And those people will start thousands more. We can forgive the man a spike or two, methinks.

We just need to all try no-till once. If you can put up with the amending through top-dressing and teas, and maintain a worm bin you are just about off the grid. You're just using vegetation and scraps turned to gold by the worms. And each generation of soil gets better, requiring less amendments. See what Gas has done over the years. He's doing, and I'm reporting.

It's not only the best medium (IMHO), but also the cheapest by far.

I've never even read anything from him LoL. I just know that he uses alot of bottles. Which I am finally weaned off of. Besides pro-tekt. I hear silica from a bottle is ok?

Hemlock- I think Stow is right on. That is such a cool thing. Converting commercial people would be a real trophy. They have to do something different, anyway. The runoff is killing lakes. So maybe they're just looking to see if they can be proactive. Seems like a great marketing point, IMHO. I would much rather walk around on organic grass. I'm very conscience of walking on heavily fertilized ground. So an organic green would attract me. Except I don't golf.

Fattie- IMHO, the pro-tekt or Agsil-16 is cool, and I can see and respect those that would rather use other means to get bioavailable silica. And that would be a very good discussion to have!

The good part is the golf course superintendent is excited about it. Want to go all in now. We spent 500 at the hydro store. all organic/TLO stuff.

I said look this ain't cheap lets see if we can fix the slime on the greens and go from there. So we are inoculating now. He made his first tea today.

He starts his compost pile this week and with a restaurant in the clubhouse hes gonna have some really great compost IMO.

He also will have lots of grass clipping and leaves to start a nice separate pile from the compost

At that point we will be the only one of two in the state tryin this..

This is the coolest thing I've heard all year!!
