most plants growing wild will not have the same structure as the inbred "strains" most people grow...the buds will usually not be nearly as massive, and full of seeds, the leaves will be growing more erratically, due to insect damage, animals grazing, violent storms, prolonged time between rains. there will be no "training" so they'll tend to be taller with less branching...
in other words, much more adapted to rain fall. when you take a modern strain, that has been mixed with countless other strains and phenotypes, bred to be good yielders, have been pampered and protected from animals and most insects and adverse weather, they do not stand up to rain or anything else as easily as wild plants do
