The new growth is already looking really good in the tent. Makes me somewhat anxious to replace the stuff in the cabinet. In the cabinet I am thinking 4 vero 29s run at 2 amp for 80w each. Then I will make a new light for the veg area too. Should cut all my electric in half! Maybe keep me from being so deep into Top tier power bills.

So what do you think 4 rails with 4 cobs each to replace my 1k and cover my 4x4 tray well?
Seems like having the light sources spread out more would have a good improvement over the one central hps bulb. You've really got me thinking.

I would do 4 sticks at 3'. With 4 vero 18 each. That would be over 600watts on a 4x4 tray with 84000lm or so with a CRI of 80. Probably a decent 1k replacement. I imagine you would be out anywhere between 650$ -800$ to build it.
They are much cooler Even compared to touching the aircooled tube in the cabinet. Tent still stays cool and has no ac... So.... ac savings by going all led can be there too. Might even have to heat in the winter time.

That's about what I figured it would cost if I did it. I don't have AC so less yea would be nice in the summer. I already have to heat in the winter so I'm not sure how that would work out. I would be able to cut down on the amount of exhaust so perhaps the room would retain heat better.

Thats my favorite part about the switch i made!!! Didnt have to throw my AC in until late may if i remember correctly. When with hps/mh i have to throw it in in mid to late march. 2 months of ZERO AC to add to the bills helped a hell of alot. And ill probably be able to take them out by mid september. Usually have to wait until late october/ early november to take it out because random warm days can throw your place out of whack with hps/mh. Even fully cool tubed!
Just wait youll be lovin them next year round too! Never switchin bulbs again. Not never but you know what i mean. RARELY. haha

Well... I pulled the trigger on stuff for a third led bar but with 4 cobs this time. These are also at 2700k color temp. So this will be instead of using the led flood lights I had already. That puts about 400w of led in the tent in a few weeks and then it should be time to flip them for flower.
