I have the Hans Panel 180 Watt version and I can vouch that it's an excellent light. I see everyone here selling it short. Do you guys have one? Are you using one? If not then don't you think it would be better to just say nothing or 'I don't know'?

In my personal experience, I was growing 3-4' foot plants with my HPS setup indoors- This LED light is doing that or maybe even better than the HPS. I was surprised at the output of the light and had my doubts that it couldn't stand a chance against my HPS. I was wrong.

I heard someone say that the technology is outdated...oh? How so? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything. I just can't understand why people are discounting something with no experience in using the lighting system itself.

I'd also like to mention that it's very well made, and again...puts out a LOT less heat, and sucks up a lot less of my money in electricity. So I disagree with the comment about the technology being 'outdated'. It's HPS lights that are becoming obsolete, too expensive to run, and which create a lot more damaging heat and light burn if you aren't careful.

I guess it's probably a good time to throw some photos. And for those who are interested, I'll keep updating, and maybe I will create a grow journal and then you can decide for yourself if its right for you or not. Not just some advice out of hearsay or pure speculation.

Yes, the 180 watt is expensive at $350 for some people, but shipping was free which sweetens the deal, and it's a lot cheaper than some of the most expensive LED systems.

I just planted an Auto Blueberry and a White Widow (hybrid auto feminized) the two plants in the 6-liter buckets. Let's see for the record how good it is. Oh and ignore the sick Warlock fem that is recovering from high pH in the photos. I adopted this plant :leaf:

I contacted Hans several years back and I almost bought a light from him, but I decided on the Spider600 from BML instead because they are only about 90 miles from house here in Texas. I liked the setup & the price of the Hans LED, but I just didn’t feel comfortable ordering something from overseas. BML uses white light now instead of the old burple lights that were so common back when I purchased mine...

The Hans Panel has a lot of white light with blue LED's for the veg stage. It has a switch on the side that turns on some extra RED LED's for flowering. There are no purple looking spectrums like those cheap Chinese LED lamps - Those are garbage for sure, and I almost bought one  The thing is I am growing autos but am switching when the plants begin flowering.

On a side note: My HPS was putting out 32,000 LUX and the Hans Panel is exactly the same - MEASURING WHITE LIGHT - Had to throw that in there because I know you can't accurately measure the red spectrum with a Lux meter.

You don't need to have personal, hands-on experience with a grow light to know that it's outdated. The power-to-price ratio of this Hans panel is way out of line with modern LEDs. When you can get a 260w Quantum Board fixture (a light that has the weight of countless testimonials, journals, reviews, and pictures on its side) for the same price, it's a no-brainer: there is no reason whatsoever to buy one of these units. I'm not saying it won't grow good weed, and a few years ago, I'm sure it was a viable option, but buying one now? You'd be cheating yourself.

I've owned 4 Hans panels, They grow weed, but not worth the money IMO. Hans died of pancreatic cancer in april, so I'm not sure who is taking care of the business.
I've owned 4 too (the old 80w model), only one survive till today, not that great but it was a good first experience with led grow light... I didn't know for Hans, i had the chance to meet him at his place in amsterdam, he was a really nice guy, it's sad.

Umm...yeah...I got a life, family, and two jobs so I don't live on this forum. As for the reasons why: I have the latest updated March 2018 - 180-watt model. I don't live in the USA, so anything shipped here to Ukraine has incredibly expensive shipping not to mention the giant custom fees on top of that. Free shipping was a good deal since it would have cost easily over $100 to ship it. The panel has a 2-year warranty in which they ship out another without any questions asked. And by the way, I emailed them several times and did a lot of research before buying one. It's a very good light panel compared to my extremely hot and expensive to run HPS lamp. It's very well made.

And lastly, the forum topic was about experience with a Hans Panel, so I thought I would contribute, not expecting to get a bunch of people telling me I made a $350 dollar mistake and bought an outdated LED panel. But at the same time, I was surprised that a lot of people are making comparisons of old 80-watt panels that are several years old, not the new ones. Despite this, the main thing is that the panel is working VERY good, if not better than my HPS lamp. That was the point of buying it, to replace the outdated old HPS, cut down electricity use, and cut down the heat. Anyone else here has the latest updated 180-watt model? No? So telling me that buying another LED panel, that I don't even know about, being a 'no-brainer' is irrelevant.

If it works for you that's all that matters.
But that light is not as nearly as efficient as LED panels that are new.. There are panels out now that are hitting 220lm/w with a better spectrum. For the same price.
The same analogy used for your led/hps replacement can just be said about upgrading your LED panel.
Even its it's their "new" panel. It's not new.
So whether or not if you disagree with Humble or not, what he said is a fact.

Don't take it personally when I say that it's overpriced and outdated. No one is saying you're stupid. But facts are facts, and it's simply true that there are better lights for less money. If you're happy and you're growing herb that satisfies your needs, that's great. But our observations on this light are not irrelevant - you're not the only person reading this thread, and if someone else is looking into buying a Hans panel, they may encounter this conversation while researching the light. Being honest about this unit's shortcomings is entirely appropriate.

Humple, what is wrong? You say not updated but dont provide any radiometric data to support that laughable assertion.
The lights are constantly updated and running amix of things namely top shelf cree bins with 2.70 umol/j which would put it at around 2.5 system wide, not too fucking shabby...

I think you are just trying to get some "cool" cred and your opinion, rather than let the numbers speak for themselves, because you would NOT have made the statement.

RIP led sectiones

One or two people are running at 220 lm/w, at a 320 LER, that is 71 or 72%, that is strictly expensive Diy, not a single sold fixture is in that category.
