There's no fucking bandwagon to get on... it's either you take in what he says and put two-and-two together (if you're human) or you conjure up these cool little scenarios where he might not actually be trash... it might've been his neighbor using this guy's wireless connection, or it could be someone living there in the same home who just isn't quite up front about being a piece of trash interested in little kids. I like to keep it simple and say that I read what the guy posted, word-for-word (it was difficult to say the least), and I FELT like I was reading text from an semi-literate scum bag. Humans, by nature, think and feel. Prosecuting attorneys are PAID and have the burdon of digging up facts to convince a jury and judge that said criminal is a criminal. Defense attorneys are PAID to defend their client, more often than not by persuading the jury and judge with feelings before facts, that said criminal is not a criminal.

When this jerk posted up his thread on here, he placed himself on the witness stand and made us the jury. I don't have any access to the facts because I don't know this person. YOU don't have access to the facts because you don't KNOW this person. The ONLY thing we KNOW about this person is that he has kids who live in a house with five adults and 4 children, ten animals, and kops busted down HIS bedroom door because they were searching for child porn related material. His main concern with all of this was that he was ticketed for marijuana-related material. He didn't go on to elaborate or express much frustration about accusations of child-porn. And I can't offer you any of this "if it were me" because it WOULDN'T be me. If I had children, I would NEVER share my home with someone else that I wasn't completely knowledgeable about.

Its not my place to judge because I don't have the facts.. I do know that the police searching for something does not constitute guilt, and I do know that most ppl are EXTREMELY vulnerable to internet hijacking..

I agree about getting a lawyer asap. Also if they were there for child porn they would not have left the house without the computer. That is how they prove their case. So just by the fact that he posted here, assuming he posted from his house means he still has his computer.

If you were accessing those things then you'll be screwed. By the court system and by your new housemates. If not then I wouldn't sweat things too badly.

I would assume they did take PC's.. The OP could access the site from anywhere.. Unless they found the offending MAC address, and only siezed that PC (which isn't exactly thorough).. See you can override the hardware MAC with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\*YourNetworkCardEntry*\NetworkAddress].. (You need to create the NetworkAddress as a string value, and you need to disable/reenable the card to activate change) So it would be prudent for them to investigate all PC's incase a person hijacked/framed that address by disconnecting that PC and cloning its MAC..
Lots of searches I've done regarding this hobby even could be twisted to scare the average jury (and other interests I have are much scarier), so I change my MAC to various fake wireless MACs all the time..

anyway so i came out good they got me for possion on total of bout .5 oz (fire safe safe box underbed locked jus for got were i put my stash), and a bunch of fines alot but not bad so yeah i also moved tha hell outa that house and left town the only reason they kick my bed door down is cuz tha cable cord was taped to tha floor runnin under tha door an ya kicked it in and seen my 2.75 ft bong sittin one tha dresser and then suspicion to search bullshit so they opened tha closest door were i hade my hydro goin and ya jus got more fucked there ya know no real lawyer jus a public def. an bout my kids they are in tha best hands even tho i aint no millionaire ya kow not yet but i do work for a ivin hate it till they need it for buildin supplies then i grow an sell to the gov. Thing is, WEP is WEAK! And not many ppl use WPA.. With a laptop running Linux, and a network adapter with a quality chipset you can gain access to a WEP secured AP lickity split..

WELL STATED! Poeple display an instinct to zero in on the negative side without doing a complete analysis of any given situation, because it is easy to do, takes no time to jump to conclusions.

Remove emotions and analyze the situation with detatchment, always taking into mind that your information may be limited, say that you don't know about wireless router security, and you will come up with better than vitreolic statements.
