I had the same thing happen with a grow.....those fuckers will fuck your plant up bigtime. I placed pest strips in my grow room and killed the spidermites but could never get over knowing my buds had dead things in them...I gave away all that small harvest and set my goals for prevention.....that was 2 grows ago...so no-pest strips are working for me.

Sorry reefer but thats kind of confusing. Did you say the pests strip are working? I have been using neem oil to kill them off but idk how good it is when your in flowering.

dude, the pest strips can still rescue you! go to home depot and buy a "hot shot no pest strip"...F'n gangster and only like 6 bucks! Put it in your cab or whatever and it'll killthose bitches. The neem isn't a horrible idea now from what i've heard and experienced...you always hear different from people but foliar feeding is ok (but should stop) in the early week(s) of flowering...so I would go get the strip, and spray 'em once or twice more pretty good with the neem in a day or 2, underneath and on top...I would water it down a tiny bit from what the mix recommends...cuz you're basically just gonna be washing dead bodies off! ha ha hah ha 4 real though, speakin from experience I did the same..neem...strips...mites gone...I love the pest strips!...

oh ya but after they're gone, leave the strip cuz those fuckers do lay eggs a grip...which is why you spray the fuck out of your girls to wash the mites off...then they can't hatch and eat her up...but you probably shouldn't keep sprayin such strong ish (like neem mix) later on when you're gettin bud production...handle it now well you have a week or so!!!

If you must...later on I'd spray with water to get the webs/dead mites off...maybe a 65/35 of h20/hot sauce or h20/soap...good luck!

hit it with some neem oil all organgic stuff works great thats what i used..... read up on the sipder mites, its good to know your enemy you have about the frist week into flowering to do this and treat them...... hit them and hit them hard .....you can even take your plant and whip each leaf with clean water make sure you get the under side of the leafs ......if you have the time .......look under each leaf for that is where the spider mites like to live......remeber to hit them hard its hard to get rid of spider mites if ur lazy but if you stay on top of them you can get rid of them i'd say you got about the next 5 days to do so.......

Hey, here is a picture of the thing that you want to get:

nopeststrip.jpg

These are not the yellow sticky traps or yellow sticky cards. A lot of people mistake them for those but you need to get this exact thing. The active ingredient is Dichlorvos so you can look at the packaging to make sure it has that.

These things work by releasing poison into the air so you need to have them in a fairly sealed off room with your plants to increase their effectiveness. If you have too much ventilation the levels of poison in the air will never reach high enough levels to kill the mites.

These things work so well because by creating a toxic environment for the mites, as soon as they hatch out of their eggs (which are immune to most other poisons), they can't breathe and die immediately.

You will have to treat for at least 2 weeks to make sure that any unhatched eggs hatch and the mites die before you remove the poison.

I have used these before and they really can be a lifesaver!

I'm assuming the posion doesnt noticeably affect the plants and that it would make no diff if it was in veg or flower?

For some reason I remember hearing someone say not to use the strips during flower but I cant tihnk of a reason why? Would rather do this than spray my 5 week old buds

Don't use ANY poisons after you are 2-3 weeks into flowering, not even these no-pest strips. If you're too far in flower it is too late for the no-pest strips, unless you want to take the chance that you'll be smoking that poison. However, since you say you are only 3 days in, it is probably OK to use these.

When I have used them in the veg stage I have not noticed any detrimental effects to the plant but I can't say about bud phase because I have never used it then.

If you're going to use these do it NOW before you start getting bud formation. You probably have a couple weeks before actual buds start forming, which is about the length of time you need to keep using the no-pest strips to make sure all the eggs hatch and die before you remove the poison. If you take away the poison too soon and leave unhatched eggs, your problem will just start all over again.

I found a good thread on a different website discussing the toxicity etc of Dichlorvos.

You can find it here. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=122627. Read through it and make a decision for yourself.

I've decided it is safe to use for various reasons, the main points being: It has a half life of 2 days meaning 50% is gone in 2 days, 75% in 4 days etc etc. Save to use 2 weeks before harvest imo. And even then, it is released as a gas and does not precipitate or accumulate. The USDA has shown that there is no evidence of accumulation in plants, fish, or animals. Also, they have shown there are no noticeable health effects after 2 years of low dose exposure (and we're talking the spray version). Also, this stuff is used in more concentrated forms in warehouse and where food is involved, is monitored by the USDA and FDA. We eat the stuff every day as it is.

If used in flower it is suggested to cut ventilation during dark cycle and keep the strip in there. When lights and vents come on you can take it out and put in a zip lock bag for the next night. (The gas does nothing if the room is vented anyway)

I would even say it is safe to use up to harvest, but I have 4 weeks to harvest and only need to use it for a week so I definately feel safe.

spider mites suck so bad, once you think they are gone they just come back to bite you in the @ss. If your going to fight spider mites there are a couple of things you should keep in mind.
1) Not all pesticides kills the eggs, so you might have to reuse a product every 3 days to kill any newborns before they can lay more eggs.
2) It's better to use multiple products that attack the spider mites in different ways.
3)There are beneficial insects that will eat spider mites but they need time to work and can be easily killed off by insecticides (even the left over residue of some pesticides can kill off beneficials)

Choose your weapons wisely and charge into battle with no mercy

And as a follow up after 3 days of moving the strip from veg room to flower oom for 12 hours each, no sign of moving mites. I sat there for a good 30 min with my naked eye and didnt see any move. Spent the next hour studying them with my microscope and no movement.

Here's for hopin they're gone.

Sounds good! Remember you have to keep using them until all unhatched eggs hatch and are killed as well.
