spent some time with the girls today.. as i do most days.. as we all do most days... pretty much was moving the girls around to optimize their lighting...
the way it was set up i had the large white shark, blue berry, and the smaller strawberry cough in the middle row under the hps lamps... the problem is the cough was starting to stretch tooo much for my taste.. i guess thats something i will have to contend with until i can replace the hps with either 2 more floros (ideally) or get 2 x 600w ballasts to replace them..
so the goal was to figure out how to optimize the lighting to keep stretching to a minimum on all plants... what i did was to move the middle row to the outside right row.. and move the smaller plants in that row under the hps lamps... this did a couple things...
1) it allowed the larger plants to actually get more light.. since they are by a wall not only do they get the light from above, but they get the reflection back onto them.. this will help keep them from getting taller (white shark and blue berry) and keep the strawberry cough and giga bud, which was also moved to that row, from stretching too much...
2) i was able to lower the hps lamps down closer to the smaller plants that are now in the middle row.. which gives both outside rows extra light as well.. since the hps lamps are closer to the ground, the white poly underneath the sites will reflect the light back up to the bottom of the girls a little more... again helping to limit stretch...
3) keeping the larger plants to the right side of the grow room opened the room up a little and increased air movement.. which is never a bad thing.. and with as the heat as it has been the last couple days the more air i can move the better..
the water chiller has done a good job keeping the res cool.. i have it set at 68.. and the water is 76 right now... given the room is about 95 or so i can't complain... this is why i think having a larger chiller in the new flower room will be important.. it should keep the water cooler with less effort...
i was looking through the picture album i have on my computer with the pics of the girls on.. and most of it was a mess.. i had files with plants that died on here and shit... so i cleaned it all up and started over basically... so i ended up taking new shots of the girls and figured since i took em i'd post them....
the larger plants i thought were interesting.. so i took some stats on them and i figured i'd post the additional info for them too.. most of the smaller plants arent really worth commenting on.. but i wanted to have reference pics for later.. and for you to watch growth from...
i still cant get the copy and paste to work with the pictures... i always end up with just a link and not the pic... so bare with me... the list of the girls is in the same order they are posted.. and if i thought anything about the plant was worth posting the info is next to the name...
white shark - as you can see she's made a great recovery from the nute burn.. and she's finally starting to show some nice growth on her.. in fact i had to super crop her again to keep growth down... she's 17" tall about.. and 18" wide.. she has 21/22 nodes and around 24 tops that i could count..
blue berry - she never really was affected by the nute burn.. but she seems to have maxed out her height.. she is still growing up little by little.. but most vertical growth, for now, seems to have slowed.. she really want to bud.. just covered in pistils... cant wait to see what she does for me!! she's 15" tall and about 18" wide.. right around 15 or 16 nodes.. and i counted about 18 tops on her
strawberry cough - i had put her under the hps lamps, which were about 18" from her.. which made her stretch a lot.. well at least what i consider a lot.. im not used to seeing them stretch like that at all... or really any stretching at all... but she should slow now in her now home... she's about a foot tall and 16" wide.. around 14 nodes.. and 8 to 10 tops... i am pretty sure she's a "mostly one cola" strain.. so i am thinking about topping her... any suggestions there?? i did try to super crop her a few times.. but within a day or so she's corrected herself and is growing again.. i dont even think the super crop affects her that much..
giga bud - one of my favorite plants.. she's only 6" tall.. but is 12" wide.. and have about 12 nodes on her.. she is fucking SUPER compact... and is showing 12 tops about... its crazy how she is.. i am hoping to get a little bit of stretch from her since i moved her... she's about a foot from the lights.. but i think with the amount of light she is getting i wont see much stretch.. i guess i just want enough room to be able to see the main stem.. its hard to get to!
super lemon haze #2
super lemon haze #1 - this is the one that started out as a mutant.. it sorta reminds me of a spider the way she looks... but again, like any plant under my floros, she is super compact....
white shark clone - i hope she ends up like her mother!!
super lemon haze #3
the next 2 are matanuska tundra
and the last one is the blue hash - she is coming back great from the nute burn as well.. its hard to see in the pic but on side of her, under the thick as top of leaves she has, has no branches... they died and fell off during the burn and havent grown back... its almost like a mushroom really.. most of the stem has nothing.. all the growth you see is at the top.. where i fim'd her i got 3 tops.. which was nice... i just wish she would push upwards now..
so again.. just to make it easy.. heres the list of pics without the commentary..

oh and lastly the final seed i germ'd to fill out the room has sprouted.. it actually did yesterday or something.. im just waiting for it to grow out a little before throwin her in... i figure by thursday or so she should be good...
since i plan on starting flowering the first of september i dont know if the new sprout will reach maturity or not.. in fact im pretty sure she wont.. but i still plan on going into flowering.. i figure over the first couple weeks of flowering while she's doing her hormone changes she should get close to her maturity then...
