SS420's new hydro grow - Blueberry, White Shark, ChemDog, OG kush

good after noon everyone... hows it going?? great today... got some dode finally.. so ive been nice and medicated the last couple days.. its been nice...

i had to move the girls around again today... seems like its musical chairs with them!! at least its as easy as pulling a bucket and dropping it in the new site... its great to see the roots hanging out of the buckets all the time.. but it amazes me how much water they are drinking.. looks like after tomorrow i will have to top it off daily...

before i moved the girls around tho i super cropped the shit out of the strawberry cough and giga bud... other wise not much new to report until thursday...

i did take a couple other pics.. one is a pic of the room before i moved things around and the next is how it looks now... i also took a pic of the white shark just to show how much of a bush she really is...

looks good bro ham.. well i think im going to buy me a trim ripper. the hand jober, this is getting old and im not even to the outside yet...

gettin an automated trimmer huh?? i can dig... im sure after a long enough run of hand trimming i'll hit a point where i invest in one too.. i just want to make sure its the best there is.. i worry about those things ripping the buds up... would want to make sure its the best i can get....

i'll tell ya what.. you send me what ever you dont want to trim and i'll be happy to do it for ya.. ill even send it back!! lol

Yo MG/SS hows it going. ya i could do for a auto trimmer. my scissors suck and my thumbs cramp.. more or less my bad eye sight is the worst of it. . . i think they have a guard kinda like a cheese grater..so the bud stays safe while everything else u stick through it gets a hair cutt. sounds great. let me know how she works mg..and price. Looks like they hydro system is setting in, and things taking off. it is expandable to 48 sites yes? im thinking 1 for my veg room, with say 20sites...and 1 in the bud room with the expandable 48. how much would that set me back shit? there like $800 bills with only 12 sites right?

fuck i think im going to be to tukerd out by the time hunting season gets hear.. seen a really nice 4 point 2day. nice wide tall rack on him.. check the trail cam and got sum nice pics of 3 buck that came in all at the same time.. a 3 point a nice forked horn and a spike fork... i have my eyes set on that 3 point.

i think your right about the trimmers... there are some that are automated and will roll and cut your buds by itself.. i think i would be more nervous about that than if i could hold the buds while using a trimmer... i may stick with hands a little longer.. its a good excuse to make the woman stay away for a day...

the system is definatly setting in.. i've found all the flaws of it... so if you decide to get one i can give you the head up on the couple things you need to watch for... but to answer your question they are $600 about with 12 sites.. that includes the reservoir, what i refer to as the drain bucket that actually has the ebb and flood timer on it, tubing, 12 sites, and pumps.. the system can be expanded to 48 sites... but you'll end up filling it everyday if you have all 48.. with the 12 girls i have and all the different sizes i have, they still manage to drink between 5 to 10 gallons a day.. i cant imagine how much it will be when they start flowering hardcore.. or even when the smaller plants start catching up to the larger ones... so i would strongly recommend, if you do pick these up, putting a water filter or water spout or whatever close to the res.. hauling 5 gallon buckets daily will get old... i do highly recommend this system tho.. other than a few small flaws, its perfect, and amazing... the nicest part is being able to move your plants around without any hassle.. the 2 bucket design is great... heres a link if you want to look at it more.. http://www.wormsway.com/detail.aspx?t=prod&sku=EGM200&AC=1 and of course ask away with and questions you have...

but figure it you want to get the 2 systems set up and all the sites running you will spend about 1300 on them all together.. its not bad when you see the results...

good morning bro hows thinks 2day thus far.. its going to be a beautiful day, going out mushroom picking 2day.not the one that get you high im going after chant-rails.

days been good brotha.. rainy and shitty.. but no complaints otherwise.. have fun with the mushroom hunting.. a buddy of mine goes hunting for them once in a while... maybe you'll get lucky and find some of them magic ones too!

Glad to see your flaws are worked out, its going to be sweet to watch these flower, I always like a comparison of soil vs hydro....I figure a couple crops and you'll be dialed in and can give a good guess diferencece between the dro and soil farming.

I've been busy as a dog, not used to 12 hour days...been awile...I got my shit done so now its back to hanging out and farming. I like the easy life of raising kids and watching the grass grow.

played around with the layout a little more today.. its like musical chairs moving the plants around like i do.. but its all for the greater good.. keeping the lights low is the most important thing.. so i've been really trying to make sure they are low.. i need them to grow as much as they can as fast as they can right now...

i have realized i absolutely hate HPS lighting tho... i've never had light bleaching until the hps lights.. i can keep the floros right on top of the plants and they are fine.. unless the plants touch the bulb and they burn.. but the hps light burns my damn plants even with them being like 3 or 4 inches off the canopy.. i guess thats the problem.. they arent meant to be that close.. but i hate having them further.. plus the 2 smaller plants under them need to stay as close to the light as possible.. i guess its just something ill have to deal with right now..

anyways.. since i was up there i took some random pics.. only a couple weeks till i start to flower... the pic of the white shark with the notebook was a last minute thought.. the plant grows at an angle and its got this gap where the book fit almost perfectly..

i cant wait to see her all full of buds.. and the way the lights are, assuming they stay staggered like they are, the lower branches will get a good amount of light also from the floros.. i really expect to have good sized buds throughout the entire plants...

i was up with the girls for a while today and was just amazed at all their different traits... i love having such a variety of strains.. watching each ones growth patterns... their phenos and the differences between the strains i have multiple of... it will be really cool to watch them all bud and see the differences between the buds themselves...

i am worried tho about space.. i still have 13 days till flower.. i should have space as long as the white shark keeps vertical growth down like she is and keeps fattening.. here soon i should be able to raise the light a little to limit the light burn that her and the blue berry are getting... its not bad.. i just make sure to rotate those girls every day and it keeps them from burning...

i dont think that the little tundra i just planted will hit maturity.. the only girls i am still waiting to see pistils on are the other 2 tundras and the 3 super lemon hazes... all the rest of the girls are showing nicely... i think 2 weeks will be plenty of time for them to show... they should hit their big growth spurts later this week and be lovely in time for flower..

i have noticed that with the system.. and i guess you can tell in the pictures... 1 week can put a LOT of growth on these girls... of course a week will put a lot of growth on any plant.. but i can really see the increase in growth rates vs. soil... its crazy to think how much the white shark grew in six weeks.. and it even had a 2 week down time from the nute burn.. ill post a couple pics.. one from the beginning of last month and one now of a couple of the white shark and blueberry just to show the growth over 6 weeks...

i really cant wait to see the difference in flowering yields... i should get a much better harvest.. i am hoping to hit a gram per watt.. but from the nute burn stress i dont know if i will.. but that was only on a few of the girls... even if i hit .75 gpw, which i feel i should easily do, i'll get 1860 grams.. which is just over 4 lbs.. but i would like to get closer to 5 or 5.5.. i think with the extended veg times of the white shark and blueberry, and the use of the hydro system and everything else, i should hit it... i would think... one can only hope right?!

been thinking about the transition into flowering... normally i would do 24 to 36 straight dark.. but with everything showing preflowers like it is i wonder if it is neccesary?? i suppose preflowers just say its ready when i am.. and doesnt really mean it will flower faster.. maybe i will just do 24 hours straight dark and then begin?? any thoughts??

oh shit.. forgot to say... i was looking as some of the blueberry tops.. i selectively fim'd some not to long ago.. and ive counted a couple of them that split into 3 tops, along with the normal 2.. i was considering fim'in some of the other ones i hadnt done yet.. think i should?? i have plenty of time.. fuck it.. yep.. i am.. LOL heading up to do it after this post

so here are some now and then pics of the eldest girls.. about 6 weeks from transplant... i would say 3 to 4 weeks soild veg time though (minus a week from the high res temps and room temp problem and 2 weeks from nute burn from "the great flood").. all in all i am happy with the progress of them...

what is this five star and the white thing thats hanging on the tundra pot? im always curious on how peoples techniques for co2 pests etc. thanks bro ur grow room looks awesome very nice healthy plants respect!!!

the five star is just a notebook.. i sat it up there just for comparison.. its just a standard sized notebook...

the thing hanging from the tundra pot is a hot shot no pest strip... i usually dont use chemicals to get rid of pests.. i swear by neem for pests.. but since i switched to hydro i have to be careful what i use because whatever it is can be washed back in the main reservoir... and that could be bad.. im not sure how or what the neem would do.. but i dont want to chance it.. the reason i even have the strip is from my last grow.. very close to harvest i noticed mites and didnt want to risk spraying the plants.. so i purchased the strip.. it works well.. i also was getting some gnats so i went ahead and threw it up... plus they are only good for 4 months or something.. so i figure why waste it..

wont be long until i start flowering and the fun really will begin.. grab a seat and hang out for the rest of the ride...
