I feel you pain. I found this in one of my girlfriend's gardening books. It is for tomatoes but should apply.

If it is a larger more important stalk or if the damage isn't that bad you can tie it up. Use ties to support the plant in two or three places further up the stalk. Tie it firmly to the support (tomato cage or stakes, depending on what you're using). You want it to be secure enough that it will not move, yet not so tight as to prohibit it's growth. Take the strip of cloth as a wide and gentler support just below the break.

Keep a watch on the damaged spot over the next few days. It should look as if it's repairing itself. When it appears as just a scar on the stalk then you can remove the cloth and one of the ties, loosening the others to normal. In some cases even this will not work and you will have to remove the stalk. Look at the leaves and see if they are still thriving or if they all seem to be dying. Again, if it doesn't seem to be repairing, cut a smooth cut just below the damage.

the split, like i said, was vertical which probably will save my ass... i have had similar splits like that from super cropping thicker stems.. so i have faith..

i have checked a couple times since and the leaves still look like nice.. not sagging or drooping or anything..

in about a week (assuming it looks ok) ill cut away the tape as best as i can... ill just really be pissed at myself if after everything i went through with her i end up losing those branches... ill still have plenty of other branches that will flower.. i just hate losing anything...

I didn't want to admit this but I was moving plants around the other day, one slipped right out of my hands (hydroton everywhere) and I broke her in half no chance of saving this one. The only good thing it was a clone so I have more. I think yours will be ok who knows maybe the buds on those branches will be twice as big. have to think positive

that sucks bro.. i am sorry to hear that.. i never thought in i would ever get so worked up and care so much about a plant in my life.. hell before i started growin i didnt know anything, or care to know anything, about gardening.. now my quest for growin perfection is never ending! glad to hear you had a clone tho at least.. so she'll live on.. in memory...

i do feel a lot better about the plants today... the gigabud had a growth explosion last night.. a good 1.5 to 2 inches of new growth.. the white shark corrected herself where she was sagging from the light falling.. the bluehash is fine.. she got it the least.. and the blueberry seems fine... the leaves are still sticking out and look healthy.. the stem where the break occured seems to be healing and is stronger... i just cant believe how bad of a break it was and how fine she is... i really thought i was going to lose the 3 center branches of my plant..




so here is my game plant guys... this weekend will be the last res change that is just veg nutes... or really any veg nutes at all... i am going to change it out tomorrow and runner a bit higher ec this week... kind of give them one last boost of growth... a week from saturday, later in the evening i will change it again.. only this change will be the transistion change.. pretty much start weening off the veg and putting on the bloom.. after the res change i am going to seal up the room, and turn the lights off.. they'll be off all day sunday.. and then, a week from this upcoming monday, will be the official first day of 12/12.. which is also september 1... then the really fun pics will start :)

Glad to hear the plants are going to make it. I think they are going to have huge buds. When you ween off veg and onto bloom, you just start the bloom at low ppm/ec and build it up right? you don't give both veg and bloom nutes do you?

MG...bear hunting with a bow!!!!, and my friends call me crazy for diving with sharks.

pretty much yeah.. i slowly add the bloom nutes.. but for that first week of 12/12 i will use veg nutes also.. about 1/4 strength each veg, bloom, and micro.. its a little different since its hydro.. the only nutes available are whats in the res.. with soil there is a buffer where the nutes are in the soil longer.. so you dont have to do the veg and bloom together thing.. but it'll only be for that first week i do it..

he is fuckin nuts.. lol but i wouldnt expect anything less from him.. lol

so i was off by one day in my planning.. i am changing the reservoir tomorrow with regular veg nutes.. i think i am going to increase the ec a little to get a last minute push from all the girls before flowering...

then a week from tomorrow i will change out the res and use about a 1/4 strength solution of veg, bloom, and micro nutes, turn off the lights that night, and leave them in total dark until tuesday.. so that will be about the 36 hours of dark i am planning on... i was thinking about just changing them out a week from monday and leaving them in dark all day monday and turning them back on tuesday (24 hours) since they are preflowering so much.. i may still do that.. but at any rate a week from this up coming tuesday will be the first day of 12/12... so thats what.. about 10 weeks or so from now until harvest?? bongsmilie

well can i share my little project with you.. i feel a lot safer now shoting a bear with my bow now....:-P and yes b4 you all ask that is a pallet. i can build just about anything out of pallets..

did the last "veg" res change for the veg cycle... next one will be the flower change... i was going to flush the girls for a day.. but since i will only be running a quarter strength solution the first week, it'll basically be flushing itself anyways.. its nice to finally be getting to the flowering... its making the dream of a brand new 4000w flower room seem closer and closer.. :hump::hump:

sorry to hear about your break.. good news is it was ok.. i think as long as its a vertical break and not horizontal they are ok... every day since then i've looked at it and got more and more pissed at myself.. i definatly am going to purchase some light lifters for the flower room, and eventually replace the DIY system i have going now... hopefully your girl heals up too...

i was checking plant height and shit just a little bit ago... all of the younger plants are about 1 ft right now... give or take a little.. the indicas 100% indicas are definatly the shortest.. im hoping to get about another 4 or 5 inches of growth between now and next sunday.. im sure i can reach that...

now i just have to keep busy and let this week pass me by as fast as it can...

Mine was a verticle break...I set a plant down on it and stipped it off...barely any damage to the plant.....hopefully it will be okay...I cloned the break and it seeams good.

5 inches of growth in a week, I dont get close to that yet....I don't have cash to invest into any equipment right now.

I decided to hit a vacation and spent the savings. I feel like you only live once and me and my boys needed a break. It was excelent...did some roller coaster riding and water parking....shopping.

the plants took a bit of a hit but not bad...I need that cal-mag bad still...I forgot to add it before I left...

always nice to get away on a vacation once in a while..its been a long time since i've really gotten away from things.. and now is not the time.. i figure if i put my time in now i am due for a week or so of fun after the flower room is up and running.. at least i know that i can fill the res and get away for a few days without having to worry about things.. even if the did suck 10 gallons of water a day down, which i doubt would happen, i'd still have 3 or 4 days before i'd have to get back to top it off.. thats if i dont have someone else do it for me..

did you go to cedar point?? or somewhere else?? im not much for rollercoasters.. my mom gets motion sickness.. and i inherited that.. it really sucks.. things that go around in circles make me sick.. and rollercoasters are just no fun at all.. i can do the water park thing for sure tho.. gotta love the girls in bikinis..

its pretty amazing how much hydro does grow over soil... i have been completely blown away... i keep saying that but i really am.. i've never had such amazing growth.. amazing looking plants... healthy looking plants... and this is just the first go... the more and more i play around the more and more ill lock things down..

i really think your girl will be fine.. and even if she loses a branch its not that bad... plus you got that clone.. it'll work out in the end either way..
