Stem skinny at the bottom???

OK, so this single plant started from seed and was outside for 3 weeks before coming into the grow room. I noticed that the stem would taper at the bottom (get smaller) but I didnt fret. I decided to put in more soil to cover up the weak skinny spot on the stem. I then did the first LST bend last weekend. 2 days ago I noticed the the 4 most bottom leaves yellowing. I dug around where the skinny spot on the stem was, and it is now really skinny, brown and hard, while above that the stem is lush green colored and looks healthy.

What to do???!!! I didnt water for 3 days and just last night gave it a good flush of pure water.

Should I cut it above the skinny/ugly stem spot at an angle and put it water for a couple days (treat it like a clone), then try to replant???

HELP!!!!

Try shoring it up with dirt piled around the stem firmly. No nutes and no water for a few days except what is needed to keep your new berm damp. If it lives roots will grow out from the buried portion of stem.

I'm having a similar problem right now with my plant. Idk what is happening but it can't stay up straight anymore. It hinges at the thinning base but the top looks healthy
