Strawberry Cough Kings Kush Critical Acapulco Gold Sensi Star& Original Skunk #1 grow

I would recommend not cutting to stress the plant to produce more, I think this hurts more than helps, I do agree that stress produces higher quality in the finished product, but your going to physically harm the plants enough by chopping the top buds.
Psychologically, as it were, stressing the plant via cold temperatures and varried light cycles in the last couple days/week is what actually has been proven to work, in some strains. But trichomes are in part an evolutionary adaptation against cold, but also fungus and bugs, among other things, perhaps strong wind directly on the plant would have the same effect.

Update: Things are going okay. Unfortunately my growing career appears to be near over at this point. The place i rent for my grow is booting me out. Not because I didnt pay on time or act sketch or invite people over to see my grow they are "too paranoid" to let me continue growing there even though im in a MMJ program

It was my last good spot to grow. so after this harvest im probably gonna "hang it up" if i can't manage to put together a half ass decent stealth grow...which i doubt as i probably only have room for about 4 plants in 1 gal pots each...

so i pretty much screwed. its a sad day for me as ive really grown to love growing my own buds. So im gonna have to scale it back or cut it off completely (only for the time being...ill never fully "give up") for now.

I started to harvest the main colas of the Critical+ and the Sensi Star. So the end is near. Heres a pic of my Critical+ before i harvested the main colas (sorry just a before picture...no after)

It would be really interesting to have a comparison with one plant for stressing and its effects.
Find two colas about the same size on the same plant, chop one, leave the other and then stress the plant for 3 days and compare.

i continue to harvest my buds as they ripen individually. So far my the main colas of the sensi star have reached the brown paper bag portion of the cure. The critical has had its 4 main colas chopped too and still on the hanger...getting close to making its way into the bad.

this time i will choose to trim the buds once they dry instead of while wet. (easier that way in my experience)

I can't help but feel torn. im glad to finally reach harvest (and pretty satisfied with all my work except the KK. i should have killed it early in flower when i had the gut feeling to do so. its the runt. however im pretty happy.

On the other hand im sad to see my grow op go away after this. im gonna still grow just scale it down to stealth for at least the next year or two. so ill still be posting/growing.. just growing stealth. its sad none-the-less especially with all the equipment ive invested my $ in.

anyway heres a few pics from today: (btw the OS#1 is within days of getting its main colas chopped)






since im going stealth i have to either find a way to keep the vegging plants or scrap them. Ideally i'd like to put 2 plants in my cab and flower just the two of them...take one and breed it for s1's and scrap the 3rd (possibly).

im considering tossing out the Original Amnesia (appears to have male preflowers as the nodes are swelling like bananas are gonna push through the branch. best way i can describe it. i might let it flower just to check the sex. idk yet

im considering making beans out of the confidential cheese as its a good compact indica dom that would be great for SOG as it stays short, compact and doesn't like topping (sounds good for my stealh grow...) i guess im saying id flower the ??? one and the GWS even though they are very different in size (ideally id flower the ??? and Amnesia one together and flower the GWS and Confidential cheese together as they match up better like that in terms of height/type of growth. any input appreciated.

Oh damn...

Today i have some awesome news to somewhat off set my sadness of losing my big grow (ie. this one).

The very first buds cut from the Sensi Star are now in jars and my first buds from my critical have made their way into paper grocery bags.

Thats not the awesome news. the awesome news is how good my sensi star is. its pretty....freakin AMAZING...from what i was told/witnessed.

As i was putting the sensi star buds in the jars i trimmed off a lil leaf (no buds just sugar leaves) and let my grow partner smoke it (i didnt have time to partake). Well its been just 3-4 days after they were chopped and its "lights out" already!

They smoked a bowl of sugar leaf and lost the feeling in their legs. Seriously. they described it as a tingling that creeps from your upper back/spine to your head...feels heady as the high sets in but quickly (within not even 5 mins) it cripples you indica style. Thats how it was described to me exactly.

This was true imo as they couldn't get up even when they tried. i had to put my hand out and pull them to their feet. lmao. This isnt a rookie smoker either. they smoke out of a 2 footer as their daily bong and have smoked every day for at least 3-4 years. so definitely not a lightweight.

im almost scared to smoke it now and ive smoked bud for nearly a decade myself.

i dont wanna toot my own horn but if as good as they say it is (just from smoking uncured leaf) then the buds are sure to be the best ive ever grown. i feel great right now. ill smoke some of that same sugar leaf tomorrow and let you know how accurate their description/reaction is...

Sensi Star is 90% indica so as of now it looks like its living up to its name. its super frosty btw. just like the critical+. huge trichs on both.

So far ive cut down the main colas of the Sensi and the 4 main tops of the Critical+.

the 2 tops on the sensi star filled a 1qt mason jar 80% of the way (very impressive for me considering) i have 75% or so of the plant waiting to get chopped.

Every day im checking trichs and harvesting the buds as they ripen to perfection. this time my goal is a equal number of amber, milky, and clear trichs. when i get close to the 1/3 split across the board i chop that bud. ive never done it so carefully before but i figure i might as well give it a shot and so far it looks like its paying off in terms of the highs.

I have yet to personally sample anything from this grow yet im just going off my partner.

nothing has been cut from the skunk#1, kings kush, strawberry cough or the AG (obviously. still a long way to go)

the strawberry cough is just beautiful with reddish orange pistils everywhere. i expect it to finish on time @ 9wks flowering.

Also I got a chance to try some sugar leaf from the sensi star. It really might end up being the best bud ive ever grown. possibly the strongest strain as well. I packed a bowl of dried sugar leaf (dont wanna touch the bud till it cures) and i took 2 hits. thats it.


the effect it caused: tingling in the back/neck/head (as reported already). I didnt experience the loss of feeling in my legs/numbness as i was told. however i only took two bowl rips. those two hits didnt even kill the bowl but it made me VERY high. im talking lazy eyelids, physical work becomes impossible, thoughts start to become scattered and vague. Its really a heavy indica.

those two hits of sugar leaf lasted 1.5 hrs and at that point i was half way through the comedown. not bad for sugar leaf at all. im thinking i surely have a 1 hitter quitter on my hands. can't wait to see how much stronger the buds are. for being a daily smoker its really a blessing to come across a strain you don't need more than 1 hit of to get a good high going (and not just a decent buzz/head change).

im so damn excited now to see what other potential gems i have!

Im really not bragging just fully impressed and satisfied. Paradise seeds officially RULE. i also grew their white berry (few yrs ago) and it was top notch as well.


More sensi went into bags today and i no longer have any buds hanging up drying on clothes pins/rope for the time being.

I keep checking the trichs and most of my plants are mostly milky but not enough amber to chop yet. the sensi star and critical+ still have LOTS of bud left on them.

the OS#1 is close to harvest (main colas) as well as im seeing a few scattered amber trichs.

Kings kush is a joke and idk when ill chop it but it still smells like crap (not mold).

The Strawberry cough and AG are having one hell of a time remaining upright and the AG has 30 more days to go before estimated chop.

dude. seriously. try. it. (sensi star) id let the trichs go more amber though next time for increased body effect. i still have over half the plant left so thats what ill do (let it get 50/50 amber/milky)

its pretty nice. i still have yet to smoke the buds of it...still just sugar leaf and its pretty fuking nice! i rolled some into a J and 2 hits was more than enough to get high.

Too bad I caught the end of this. I am running a couple of these strains too. +rep man. Great job!

hey thanks a lot. Welcome to the thread. Sorry for the lack of pics down the stretch.

given this is my last big grow (going stealth after this w/ 200w or so versus the 1650w im using now) and i didnt know it would be my last big grow im pretty satisfied with my strain selections.

All the plants have been a pleasure to grow except the AG. its been a pain in the ass. very demanding on the water/nutes. the rest are pretty awesome.

which strains of these are you growing? maybe i can give you some info based on what ive learned from growing them.

Quick update (no pics...sorry):
yesterday i did lots of watering: AG, SC, Critical+, and OS#1.

I clipped a few more tops from my Critical+ that began showing 20% amber trichs. The buds are HUGE from critical+.

Some of my Critical+ has finally made its way into jars along with some of the sensi star thats been in a jar for about a week. still not completely dry but close. Ive really been having a great dry/cure compared to all the times in the past where ive struggled with letting the buds get too dry before putting them in bags/jars.

the OS#1 will be 9 wks flowering on friday and the tops may need to be harvested by then. the OS#1 has starting looking really..."pretty" down the stretch. the leaves are yellowing w/ a slight black/purple color in the center of the leaves. very nice looking.

the critical+ also looks great as it has a purple hue along the edges of the bud/leaf...its especially apparent during the trim process.

heres where my plants are in flower according to my "guesstimate":
OS#1 and sensi star are 9wks flowering as of friday (rest of my Sensi star will probably come down friday)
my strawberry cough and Critical+ are 8 weeks flowering as of yesterday
AG is 7 1/2 wks flowering.

im not sure how far along the KK is but i really dont care as its a runt. at least a lot of the buds/leaf have turned purple as promised according to the pics by GHS. it smells something aweful though and not in that typical "pot stench" kind of way either. just gross. idk how to describe it. for it not being moldy it sure smells gross.

I am currently growing the kings Kush and strawberry cough. By the way your sensi star looks I might wanna pick that up from a local grower I know who has a bomb pheno. Jus thought it took longer. Anyways great stuff again. I'll be posted

hows ur kings kush? are you in flower with her yet? got pics? curious because mine was a runt but im hoping to see someone get better results. you'll like the strawberry cough. if you top/fim that strain it tends to spit out SEVERAL tops. mine has 8 from 1 top and 1 FIM.


yeah the sensi star is pretty killer. better than i expected. according to paradise its supposed to take 8-9wks. mine will be 9 wks this fri.

Ok. a shower, J, and im back.

Update:

Smoked some critical+ today for the 1st time w/ only 1 day in the jar. It was a small bud but took 2-3 rips to kill.
Effect: HIGH. super high. if you smoke it too fast it comes on really intense but mellows out in 15-20 mins. after the initial rush its just heady w/ stoned body effect. pretty nice. not as good as the sensi star so far imo. (and thas comparing critical+ bud to sensi star sugar leaf lol)

I decided, "Fu*K my landlord" im gonna bloom my vegging Original Amnesia, Confidential Cheese, and Great White Shark! mj FTW! lol. idk why but i hate to kill plants ive had vegging nearly 2 months in 3 gal pots! (under t5s) im gonna just put them on something and stick em next to my plants in bloom. since most of them are almost done they will soon have enough room to bloom.

idk if i should but im not gonna transplant. i poked a few holes in the soil noticed the root system isnt too massive for the 3 gal pots yet (oddly enough).

so im gonna put em in 24hrs darkness then straight into the bloom room.

since this will be my last harvest (in a big grow setting for quite a while) i wanna go out with a bang! (ie. lots of bud while i work out the kinks in my stealth grow).

if you have any opinions on this please feel free to chime in.

UPDATE: The Critical+ and Sensi Star are officially chopped down and hanging up to dry!

I moved my mystery plant, Confidential Cheese (CC), Great White Shark (GWS), and Original Amnesia (OA) under one of my 600w hps. since i chop'd the star and the critical i found myself with some extra room and decided to take advantage before i have to tear my setup down while i wait for my AG and SC to finish up.

So looks like this journal will last a while longer

hey. thanks man/woman. welcome to the journal.

im sad as anyone to have to hang it up as far as growing on this level is concerned. i'm working on a stealth cab and hope to get it up and running soon enough. So i'll still be growing and i'll still be on this forum...just in a new environment on a super small scale (in comparison) .

im just struggling to figure what type of lights/pot size, etc i'll need to do it on a small level as i learned with a 600w and kept adding on and never looked back. so its gonna be a little of a learning experience this next time around.


however before that im flowering my Original Amnesia, Confidential Cheese, Great White shark, and mystery sprout. if time allows me to finish. i might have to finish them out stealthy under cfls as im expected to shut down in a month 1/2. so they may have to live the last 2-3wks under cfls. maybe. we'll see. if i have any luck they will finish under my hps.

im not even sure if i can flower them in the 3 gal pots they are sitting in as i vegged them for nearly 2 mos under a 4ft 6bulb t5 fixture. i checked the roots and they don't look too thick/developed so im hoping i can avoid the transplant and they wont get rootbound. fingers crossed.


but yeah thanks for dropping in. I'll keep this journal going until either:
A) my new GWS, OA, CC, and mystery plant finish flowering.
OR
B) i have to tear down my grow op in which case i'll try to finish flowering my 4 new plants stealthy or i'll discard them/make hash out of them and start fresh with my stealth cab (once its ready to go). im still not certain which strains ill grow next time but i'll post em if i figure it out.

The kings Kush is looking strong. I actually am mothering the one from seed right now. I threw in a couple small babies to see how they do I'm flower (from roots clone to flower) so far so good. It has already grown about 8 inches in about 8 days of flowr. The strawberry is doing amazing like you said. Can't wait for her to strt smelling.

my strawberry never did pick up a very distinctive scent. definitely not strawberry. just slightly fruity but not strong (you really had to touch your nose to the bud to smell it) . so let us/me know if it turns out different/better.

hairs were deep reddish-orange and the bud was very distinctive from the rest of my plants (You could identify it mixed with other types of buds EASILY imo) very sativa like buds (typical sativa buds..lots leaves make it a pain to trim) etc.

thats my exp with it. my update (coming right up) is gonna have a pic of the Strawberry

Whats new today -
KK, SC, OS#1 = almost half way chopped

I checked the trichs on each one and decided the tops could come down. the skunk and the strawberry cough were showing like 8-12% amber trichs on the tops so i chopped. im looking for a well balanced high with those two. especially the strawberry cough as im hoping to use it for anxiety purposes. so i definitely want mostly milky trichs with that one.


The Original Amnesia, Confidential Cheese and Great white shark are appearing to do well in flower. the mystery plant is...ehhh not looking too good. ill have to get a good pic to show you. 3 of 4 plants have shown pistils already. i cant remember which ones though.

i watered the KK, SC, and AG.


btw. the AG is a b*tch to grow. not because of the height but because of how fragile it is (branches don't tend to hold the buds too well) im running out of things to tie it up to. its starting to look much like my SC was pictured above without any support (for a watering today)

Don't be surprised if my updates get shorter and shorter as i have my hands full with scissors and bud to trim i like the bud but the trimming is the worst! also: i dont have spring loaded scissors currently so its all manual. i still have to trim the critical+ in the brown paper bags (pictured above).

anyway things are lookin pretty decent overall.

ill try to borrow my friends cam again to get some of those high quality bud shots for you guys.
