Do you guys find that plants that are strong vegetative producers are big bud producers as well?
Absolutely Yes. Yield is entirely dependant on how veg goes. The healthier a plant is going into bloom the better.Do you guys find that plants that are strong vegetative producers are big bud producers as well?
He didn't ask if healthy plants in veg will do better in flower than sick plants. He specifically asked if "strong vegetative producers are big bud producers".
I had 8 LA Confidential that vegged for 41/2 months from clone. Had big beautiful buds. Thought I was going to get a kick ass yield but instead found the buds to be light as air... Only got ⅓ of the yield I thought I'd get.Depends on the strain.
Also very true - I had 33 plants that were attacked by spider mites from beginning to end - Damn mites would hit weak parts of the plants and just massacred the entire crop giving up a yield of only 12 ounces! Should have gotten at least 4 lbs.Based on his wording, "vegetative strong producers" does not imply a question about healthy vs sick plants. "strong producers" to me means vigorous growth, or producing a lot of foliage. Otherwise he would have asked "are healthy plants big bud producers?" I'm probably not the best person to ask what he meant, since I'm only going by the definition of words. You could always ask OP for clarification.
But you made an absolute statement: "Absolutely Yes. Yield is entirely dependant on how veg goes." Which is not entirely true. Some strains are low yielders, no matter how healthy or perfect they are in veg.
So there are two answers here. Yield is dependent on several factors, but mainly:
1) Yield is strain dependent.
2) Yield can be affected by the health of the plant in veg prior to going into flower.
I stand by my answer. Absolutely yes. Vegetative health dictates how the plant will yield, assuming no probs in bloom. Of course you would double down. Look how easily you contradict yourself in the same paragraph.I stand by my answer. Absolutely yes. Vegetative health dictates how the plant will yield, assuming no probs in bloom. Period.
As for my other post, i have changed my mind. Such is not strain dependant. It is relative. A low yielding strain will yield as much as it possibly can if veg stage was flawless (assuming no probs through bloom either). If veg stage was problematic it may still yield well, but likely not as much as it could have.
Same goes for a high yielding strain.
Contradict myself? Not at all. I changed my mind/opinion, as I clearly said.Of course you would double down. Look how easily you contradict yourself in the same paragraph.
