Subcool's Super Soil

Hey I am in the last week of prepping the super soil blend and I just had a few questions. First off when I let the garbage bins sit for a few days they all started developing a layer of what looks like mold, but does not smell like it and didnt spread at all. Is this just a natural colonization of everything working together? It kind of reminds me of root webbing. Any ideas as to what this is? and is it going to hurt my babies when they go in? or is it normal? Also. I am going to be brewing my own earthworm casting tea and I was wondering what a good age is to introduce the tea into theyre feeding routine. I plan on doing a once or twice monthly foliar spray with it and a once weekly addative to my water since all im feeding them is the water. Has anyone tried this in concurance to the supersoil? And last but not least I am thinking of running an enzyme booster called hygrozyme. Is theyre better enzyme boosters to run in this type of soil? Any help is way appreciated fellas. Thanks alot

yes this is the soil web means you did it correctly

If you add anything but water you will fry your plants using super soil.
The whole concept is NOt having to mess with the plants once you make the super soil.

You can try it but dont be shocked when your leaves turn yellow and brown and start falling off.

Hi sub I am a caregiver for the medical marijauna community in the state of MT and would like to be the first in the state that sells you strains. I think my patient's could really benefit from the use of your strains. I try to advocate the use of seed for benefit but I have a lot of low income patient's that can not afford 100$ for a pack of beans. Any Ideas? I got an idea. How about you buy the beans for them!

I give each of my patients a free massage and chiropractic visit each month. MJ may help cope, but it doesn't address the real issue.

My Jillybean pheno is more of a mind numbing indica body stoned and leaves me rather muddle headed.

Out of 4 TGA strains and numerous phenotypes I just found one that I truely enjoy...the JC dom Qleaner. Now that I find to have an upbeat and real happy high. Oh ya, and it's super potent!!

As always, you're a pillar of knowledge HC. Good to know about the Jack's Cleaner pheno for the Qleaner. I got a bunch of goodies from Sub when I bought his book from his website, including his latest seed menu with all the info on each strain. It's dangerous for me to dig through that thing -- makes me wanna expand my operation tenfold and order a pack of each!!

for sure I am not going to be using the hygrozyme in the super soil but Im going to use it in the fox farm blend i used to try and help break everything down a little more for the babies. Do you think that using a very diluted amount of the tea once monthly as a foliar just to keep off mold and bugs? Or would that still be too much for them? Also I was thinking about using the tea in the later phase of growth once the plants have uptaken all of the super soil nutrients so that I dont have to do a top feed and wait for that to go away before crop. I know if you use compost tea as a fert is flushes way faster. what do you think? Thanks alot man! Theres not many breeders that are cool enough to help you out with the little things. I know you gotta do trial and error but I dont want to harm my babies! Knowledge is power! Again thanks!!!

Hello sub comming to you from ohio long time fan and this year am following your super soil to a tee and growing a few of your wonderful strains,
I was wandering about super soil amounts depending on strain. Like what strains like more super soil and which dont like it and require less of the super soil.

I have 24 in bud right now. Huge awesome stinky buds. I have developed a problem. It started with one plant, and seems to be three now. I have scoured with magnification and found no bugs. I am thinking it must be a deficiency or lock-out of some kind. I am using super soil- same for all 24 plants. Here is a scan of the leaves. Any idea? Calcium deficiency?

the three plants are not adjacent to each other. thaey all have healthy plants surrounding them.

While i've got you do you mind posting a pic of it? Would like to know how to identify this pheno...what are some distinguishing characteristics?

Is there a Jillybean pheno that is really upbeat as well as one that is as HL cave describes? What strain would you suggest for someone looking for that real upbeat happy high?

Just want to say thanks again for all your great wisdom you have shared on here.

I really feel like your knowledge has taken me to the next level and from there it's up to me.
Here is an example of how great your soil is.. I messed up mixing it; by using way twice the base I should have.
(not paying attention to compressed bale vs loose bag)
So I used half the amendments called for and the girls are still looking great.
I'm debating about dumping and remixing it or leaving it for a good potting mix for seedlings since
it isn't that hot now. That isn't a question by the way heh..
Just raving how much I appreciate your knowledge and wisdom shared here.

Looks like cal to me. Are all the leaves on the plant affected, or just the lower ones? If it is just the lower ones I wouldn't be too worried about it but would still keep an eye on them -- those leaves are the oldest on the plant.....

I am not a trouble shooter at all but we call that Hot feet and some plants have a more difficult time with the super soil than others.
its more likly just mild lock out and as the plant gets bigger it should grow out of it.
If I transplant to soon into super soil I can get stains on certain strains but by week 2 there growing like hydro plants.

Its been in super soil for months. No hot feet. I top dressed after problem started showing up thinking it may be lacking something.
Picture with can is two weeks ago- problem wasn't exident enough for me to think there was a problem.
Other pic is today- plant looks ok besides the speckled leaves.

Are you using RO water?

My partner was and he had to add some additional Cal/mag as his ro was removing his.
I use well water under 100 ppm and it must have enough trace elements that I dont see much of an issue but Cheese needs additional cal/mag as I dont run her in super soil but Roots

Man you didnt put me on the spot at all bro I just am terrible at trouble shooting probs as when I have my own I am just guessing and I tend to fix the prob in the next run and not chase the problem as thats just never worked for me in soil at day 45 of budding theres not alot one can do in soil as things happen slowly what I will do is make notes and adjust when I run that strain again.

generally its a water issue when someone has these type of probs so id look there.
