Did this forum actually become this ignorant and pathetic over the last two years?? Did you even read my original post? I never advocated nor defended drying in the sun, but its been done for centuries in many nations, maybe not the best practice but obviously not that destructive or no one would’ve gotten high from cartel weed in the 80s and 90s…the BEST way to dry is sublimation/freeze dry, just shake the water crystals away, but most of us including me do the dark/perfect tem/perfect rh environment methodology then cure in jars. And yes, I have harvested so much outdoor that I left about a QP hanging outside in hot november weather until it was dry and sheiveled, looked like shit, but still smoked great when compared to the rest of the plant that was processed normally. And as for taking shots at me for googling the exact info relating to this, take a biology class, as you said plenty of cells keep growing once the plant is cut and hung…no water, so the transferration stops but the trichome cells live on….which means for the time they live (2-3 days at least regardless of environment) they would function exactly the same as if they were still attached to a live plant growing IN THE SUN. So, the sun/light is the absolute best thing for your trichs and THC production but the instant you cut them it is going to ruin that THC and destroy your plant in 2-3 days?? OK, that makes a LOT of sense LOL but whatever
I guess I expected more critical thinking from experienced growers in a forum where I’d received it before, didnt realize it had gone so far downhill but thanks to everyone for contributing.
And as for “google scientist”, I work in pharmaceutical testing with an MS in BioChem, another MS in Microbiology, and a BS and certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, and I’ve been growing weed clandestinely and legally for 35 years…..what could I possibly understand about science, plants or weed LOL?
