Yeah its been tested at 700 pars. Is that brighter then the sun?? How many pars are your led lights and is it more then the sun?
Of course not.
I'm not trying to go through the whole grow using the window sil... I just wanted to give it some of this bright ass sun that's blazing in through my patio door right now. I don't see how that can be that bad.
Not assuming the worst. Let alone I never said it was bad. You wanted to know about window growing, I found a thread posted the same time as yours and linked it.

This is the specs on 1 of my lights.View attachment 4104598 The other 2 I have are DIY. Never checked the light output of my DIY lights cuz I don't really care to know really. But no they don't come close as the sun
Man I bet those babies are nice. I wish I knew more about building lights. I can frame a house and install phones/satellites but i don't know shit when it comes to these new lights. I've seen some pretty awesome dyi setups on youtube and it makes me so jealous with envy.

It isn't that difficult, bro. Especially if you use Quantum Boards - strips may be the new king of the hardcore DIY scene (understandably so), but you can't beat QBs for affordable, easy entry into LED. Worth every penny!

I built an easy flower light and a veg light for my perpetual grow. Just gotta take it one step at a time. Apply a little bit of math make sure the triangle piece fits the triangle hole and your good to go :)

You gotta link for a Qb kit?
Check out www.horticulturallightinggroup.com for the different kits and boards available. If you don't mind a little extra work (it really isn't much more difficult), I can do you one better than a kit and suggest a from-scratch build using QB132s - the 132 is a 75 watt QB that doesn't need a heatsink, so it's super economical (heatsinks can get pricey). I've done two builds with QB120s (the 132's predecessor) - four boards per light for 250w per (see the fixture in my avatar pic). Cost me less than $1/watt. It wouldn't be a big deal to list out the parts you need for any size build, any size space. There are also some great step-by-step tutorials on YouTube, done by @ledgardener, that walk you through the build no sweat.

I expect my next build will probably be Samsung F Series Gen 3 strips, but I'll always recommend QBs to someone who's just getting into DIY. Poke around the forum and you'll see what kind of results growers are getting with QBs - stellar results, man.
