Sunlight VS CFLs - What is it gonna be ?

she should bend somewhat towards the light, don't think it will be completely horizontal
with cfl's, the strongest light is given off from the side of the cfl, the side presents more surface area
but you don't want to rob the other side from light completely, a reflector on the other side would improve that
but will this keep your plant within your size constraints? you may have to get a bit ruthless, you can snip the tops in the extreme

hey yall,i have a plant that i have under cfl's with 3 others in a large tote grow under 20 cfls.they are doing great.i lst'd them alot.any way,the one plant is a little bushier and smellier than the others.would it be o.k. to put it in the sun outside 4 a couple hours a day ,its not gettin over 80-85 degrees here now.it gives my other plants room 2 get more light to the buds.what yall thank?

#1 possibly yes, it is hard to beat sunlight, at least more difficult

#2 yes. even great genes benefit from good nutrition.

#3 more veg time = bigger yield, if u have the space for it.

souds like a great idea. sun light makes for the best quality!

i have experimented with turning my CFLs sideways durring bud for max area coverage, works well. however, im going with MH and floros for my next indoor

Yeah that's exactly what I thought, I'll put a reflector on the other side and it should be good. Thanks again Growone for the advice !

This is my first grow in the flowering phase (I had to sell the previous ones because of relocation and size issue).
I gotta say ... watching your plant developing the buds everyday is a real pleasure !

PS : I haven't smoked since the beginning of this grow.

High Everybody,

My Purple Widow is actually 31 days old today (from seed 12/12).
I cut the air circulation during the day in order to stop the plant from growing up and to focus more on the BUD development.
At night, I let the door a little bit open to get some fresh air (for her health and purple color).

I can already hear the criticism coming from some of yall but it actually worked, the buds are growing really well in size and the plant did not grow too much except for the leaves they are bigger now.

I still haven't used any nutes yet, I give her pure water, some SuperThrive every week and some Organic Bloom every 3/4 days.

From my perspective she is doing pretty good so far, the size is alright considering the little room she has and the Buds are growing very well.

the big thing with your first grow is to get some bud, whatever you get, it was more than you had before, and you have a grow under your belt
her color is quite good, a little lanky but about right for the amount of light you are using

Yeah that's the whole excitment, getting your first home-grown buds.
Of course, the main inconvenient is that she is laggy but thats what happen when you don't veg before going to 12/12.

Oh well, the next ones will look better !

No more space man and I can't let the temp go higher than it already is during the light cycle.
She will grow up this way and I'll see what it is gonna turn out to be.

DAY 35 from seed :

The plant is doing good, she got some burnt leaves because of the little space and the big CFL, but nothing major.
The hairs keep growing on all the bud spots (I can't wait to see the buds filling up!!!) and she didn't grow up much in size, which is what I want.

However, i got one issue that worries me :

The plant doesn't actually has ONE top bud, the top of the plant went in like 3 or 4 separate stems with some small buds growing on them (not too many hairs yet).
As a consequence, the bigger buds on the plant for the moment are all the others under the top spot (growing really well with a lot of hairs).

- Is the plant wasting its energy on the top with small buds or is it actually a good thing ?

many growers seem to say 'it doesn't matter', the plant is going to have the energy/genetics to grow a certain amount of bud, the smaller buds will simply get larger than they would have if there was a main cola

I just thought that the main cola was supposed to be a big one on the top.
In my case there won't be any on top, the bigger ones will be under the top.
Oh Well ...

I don't know how many days I got left until harvest, I would be satisfied if she could finish around day 70-75.

yours is a very interesting grow! im going to stay subscribed to this so i can see the end result.i am doing a 100% CFL grow. and am having great success with my LST. check it out if you like

24/7 light for vegging?? does that work against the nature of the plant without having any light/dark cycle at all?

I'm pretty new, 1st crop flowering now on outdoor grow. Do you feel you get much larger plants?? Enough to outweigh electricity costs?

Yeah I know that the plant doesnt have enough light but there is nothing I can do because of the little space.

My next grow will be WAY better though (I plan to go aeroponics, I already have some HPS, MH and CFL bulbs so it's gonna be great).

believe me i understnad small spaces did you check my grow andsee what i started with? i ende dup building something that looks like a cabinet though

im really looking forward to your next grow though man! STOKED!
