I use them and i hate them. You would be better off building a 250 watt 5 cob 4 foot long bar. It smashes a T-5 HO in every which way. Not trying to be a downer, but absolutely T-5's are a waste of fucking life, and i own millions of them. Slowly fazing those piece of shits out. 5 more cob bars and Ill be free at last from a fucking T-5!!!!
How far away do you need to keep those cobs from the plants? Does it cover the entire tent?

Are those Simms waders or boots in that box? I have 2 boxes that are just like that. You must be a fly fisherman too I'm guessing?
Yesser I'm a diehard Steelhead and Salmon fisherman. There's a dam right down town Grand Rapids that I've fished for 30 years. There running right now. I got the whole Simms G4 outfit. Where u from?

It's not all about height. And listen to Ganga Gurl. Artificial light also doesn't work quite as well as the sun. So we are trying to keep our plants shorter indoors so the light can reach the lower bud sites too. Less popcorn. But like she said, they're your plants.
LMAO you grow your way and I'll grow my way and I guarantee I'll havest more. I've been growing for 35 years and have tried it all trust me. 2 month veg. Also I said I harvest from top to bottom. Once I pull all the tops off the bottom will continue to grow and finish.

Nice. I bought bunch of gear when I moved to Colorado, and taught myself to fly fish. Rivers and streams are all around me, but they're full of trout instead of salmon. I wish it was the other way around, lol. I grew up trout fishing and Salmon/Bottom fishing on charters in Seattle, but I realized Walleye are way better tasting when I lived in South Dakota. Almost like cod, or a white fish from the sea. I don't mind trout, but it's fishy, lol. My favorite is still cod, or bottom fish like snapper.

Yeah Walleye, White fish and lake perch are the fish of choice for eating around Michigan. I catch and release mostly with Steelhead and Salmon. It's all about the fight with them.

Same for me with the trout. I love to catch them, but I don't want to kill them if I'm not gonna eat em. I like them occasionally, but they are fishy. That's why I like fly fishing for them. They don't swallow the bait and die afterwards. Trout are sensitive. With a fly rig they just get the hook in their lip, and I can remove it without causing them too much harm. Walleye are another story. Tough as shit, but they taste mighty good, lol.

the 250 watt cob bar covers a 2x4 area as would a 4 foot 8 bulb t-5 that runs about 430 watts. For my situation i put 3 teen clones under them and am doing the mother plant thing under them. Id say the light was 24 inches away off the teens to start.

Ive had it with flourescents as well, once you see what a stronger light does for your veg tent theres no going back. Starting to veg with my hps dual spectrums and wow was i impressed :-)

Thats what I've been using but recently been hating them cus they have to be close or the plants stretch a bit. actually just threw up my 600w hps for vegging last night

May I ask why you do that? Having node spacing too far apart is going to cause a lot of popcorn buds instead of big fat colas.
Look at a scrog grow... the tops are anywhere from a foot ...foot and a half above the net and you can pull pounds off a 4x4 area.
Heres an example ....
First indoor grow for me since about 1997
Started under a T5 for the first month (4 bulb 2 ft) mixed spectrum 6500 and 3000 2 bulbs of each.
Now into the first week since flip under a 315cmh and qb260
Dont have a set yield aim but will be more than happy with anything over 9 or 10 oz if not closer to a pound.

Having had the use of a T5 for veg prior to going outdoors with the plants a T5 is perfect if u have that extra few weeks to veg in no rush
Having also experienced the veg capability of a 315 cmh this kicks arse in the way of quicker bushier growth.
Both methods are gd

Exactly....very nice screen too dude! Scrog is really the best method to go with when dealing with a small space and artificial lights for the most bang for your buck!
Cant wait to see what you can do with some jelly dreams! Hehe

Another reason to run T5s is you don't want them to grow too fast and big. I take clones off the veggers about a week before bud harvest so them clones will be growing for 2 months before they can go into the bud room. Sure there are a lot of ways to grow them big fast but with limited space that's not always what you want.
