Tax Refund....

Anybody do their returns yet and get a nice Federal refund? So, what are ya going to buy?

I'm still undecided. I got 3 projects I've been wanting/needing to do for awhile and thinking I'll use most of it to finally move forward on these projects. I'll probably buy some new bulbs though too.

So what are your plans?

I got about 3k and its going to into the house fund. There is nothing else that I need or want that I can't just buy right now... Well, except for my house that is. :grin:

im not getting a tax refund but i am getting backpaid my baby bonus checks soon, going to be like 1400 dollars or something like that, im getting a counter top dishwashed for my girlfriend, throwing a birthday party for my son who turns 3 next week (were goign bowling) and i want a new tent to use as a veg tent for my closet. Oh and ill probably buy some diapers and formula to lol

Got a little back. Bought some new pots and hit up the Attitude bday special.

The rest went towards feed for the animals.

I've paid £19 of tax in the past 2 years so pretty sure i'm not eligible for a refund :( Need a new computer badly, gotta jump start this one with a paperclip these days.

i havent done my taxes in 4 years, i figure i should do it this year before they put me in jail LOL

hah yeah i have to do that this year, gunna be a bit of a pain , cause the flood ruined half my rent recipts and other tax info but i think i saved as much as possible :)
but on topic i dont think im going to buy anything really.
perhaps pay off my credit card put a little extra down on school
maybe buy myself some flowers dunno :)

I haven't filed in I can't remember how long. There is no law that requires people to file. People are just afraid of the consequences of not filing. Most people have their money stolen each week right out of their paychecks. What a scam. They think of their refunds as an annual free gift from the government that comes with no interest on their withheld money instead of increasing their deductions, holding more of their own money and investing it into something that pays them to invest.

Woods v. Commissioner, 91 T.C. 88, 90 (1988 – the court rejected the claim that reporting income taxes is strictly voluntary, referring to it as a “‘tax protester’ type” argument, and found Woods liable for the penalty for failure to file a return

I guess you can call the people at the IRS and they'll tell you that income tax is completely voluntary but you dont have a choice in wether you wish to volunteer or not. I did a little research and i came to the conclusion that since the federal banks are actually a private business and not operated by the government at all, and we all use their money, we have to pay there taxes. But outside of what a couple random judges chose to decide, there is no law that states we have to pay income tax. And actually "income" doesnt even refer to what we regular citizens earn when we go work our w-2 jobs. Its supposed to mean a companies gains or anything that is in access to what you put in. So what you make at work in a 8 hour day technically shouldnt be taxable as you earned that money through physical or mental labor and your salary is what you receive in compensation for your effort. So the fact that they tax what we make is basically saying that we do nothing at our job and just get paid for no work at all. The income tax is a heavily debated thing and totally unconstitutional, but its been engrained in our minds that we are going to do two things in life. Die and pay taxes, which i think is BS. But it wraps back around to the fact that were using their currency and they can do whatever the hell they want with it, whoever they is lol.
