Yes it is...breaking is an issue on them. Can you imagine a 50-60 pound bike going 35 mph, trying to stop with bicycle brakes??Damn I was thinking 10 - 15. That's a good amount of weight.

Yeah I ride dh. Dh bikes aren't light, go fast and have big brakes. The red bike I posted in the beginning of the thread has 9" brake rotors. I was thinking about putting it on the black bike that's a bit lighter and only has 6" travel. But that will still be putting the bike in the 60-70# range. Probably a expensive bad idea till the weight comes down.Yes it is...breaking is an issue on them. Can you imagine a 50-60 pound bike going 35 mph, trying to stop with bicycle brakes??
Me too!My cousin has an off road electric unicycle. Goes upto 32 mph. Imagine being on a unicycle going that fast. Ballsy fucker.

I want one.

I’ve used them at gym I liked it, couldn’t do it for real life thoughRecumbent rider here. Sunseeker EZ Sport. Love riding with my feet out in front of me. Sturdy back support and 24 speeds makes riding a breeze.
You’d be surprised.I’ve used them at gym I liked it, couldn’t do it for real life though
When I raced bikes as a junior we called the recumbent division “special needs”You’d be surprised.
We refer to diamond frame bikes “ass hatchets”.
bummer.Well my ebike build is not off to a good start. Their specs showed 13 cm needed for the swingarm width...In actuality 15 cm is needed...I only have 13 cm and its aluminum....So, either find another bike or return this motor...or both!
I've already found out the Amazon seller is an asshat so I'll probably be stuck with it.
I did see a Trek 4900 mtb on CL tonight for $400... and there's a bike shop near me I may go check out and see. Just the wrong time of year to find a used bike around here, but we shall see.
What are your goals with the bike? If you’re just using it as a commuter, then go pick up a 7 speed cruiser from Walmart. You’ll need to order some better after market brakes, especially if they’re caliper or linear pull. If you wanna ride on trails, then be happy that it wouldn’t fit on the Hyper, because that bike would almost definitely fail at the most inopportune moment, and seriously injure you.Well my ebike build is not off to a good start. That's probably great advice, and the same I am getting from others. Honestly, all I have ever ridden are cheap WalMart bikes!!What are your goals with the bike? When my last bike got hit by a car, I spent $125 on a 7 speed cruiser, steel frame. Brakes suck, and I literally exploded the original derailleur, but it definitely gets around.
This is my third bike with this hub motor. The motor has almost 2000 miles on it. I sorta wish I had just invested in a better bike to begin with.
I recommend you just buy something you can ride for a while. Trust me, when you’re on your third cheap big box bike, you’ll be thinking the same.
It's at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer, lolView attachment 4810667
Lol I figured it would fit, I just didn’t wanna say it. I had hoped you would just figure it out. Lol why didn’t you put the tire on before mounting the wheel? It's at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer, lolView attachment 4810667
