Well, when one's personal best on a Hack Squat was 1100lbs for 5 reps without wraps...:D
Damn.....I haven't tried so I don't know, but that sounds pretty damn heavy. I was thinking about mounting poles. That's a killer work-out, I do know.

If you're a so called "patriot" you've given the meaning of that word a whole new negative spin . Thanks for that.

Sort of like calling McCain a "hero" because he was shot down over enemy territory, captured, and tortured for years then released. I suggest you might look in a dictionary for a definition of "hero".
I thought the military creed was to escape at any cost, even death.... Not (as he said) decide to stay............... bet he squealed like a stuck pig... A hero escapes, not get shot down.... in my town, thats a resounding failure..Billy Bishop he ain't.... :peace:

Uhm, you see, the problem with that in general is that what did you do when the enemy wants you to sign a fake confession that will give them a propaganda (psychological) victory for your freedom?

And is that really an escape? That's more a matter of waving a personal white flag and surrendering. Esp. since they would probably release you after you promised not to engage in combat ops against them again during the current war.

So, no, escape at any cost isn't the crede of the military.

Well, not as it can be applied to McCain's failure to escape.

Escape at any risk of injury, yes, at any cost, not so much.

How does on escape from the steel cage while hanging by the arms from the ceiling?

Vi
Well you can either pull an Obama, and make the steel cage vanish after befriending it.

Or you can pull a Houdini, though that involves some trickier methods.

Well, see, I disagree with that. He didn't have to tell his captors he was the son of an admiral. He *volunteered* that information, to get better treatment than his fellow soldiers. Maybe you think that's okay, but his fellow soldiers don't think much of him for doing that, and neither do I.

If he got "better" treatment from his captors than his fellow prisoners did, what the hell did they do to the fellow prisoners? I mean, how many bones can be broken?

Some of his fellow prisoners didn't live, and some that did survive were minus a limb or two. Those people were/are the real heroes in the Story of John McCain.

What the fuck is the matter with you?

What? getting captured, tortured, and then volunteering info to the enemy and betraying your fellow soldiers -- that shouldn't be questioned? What was the part that makes him an unquestionable hero? The betrayal part, the getting tortured part, the getting captured part?

I'm a combat veteran myself. If you aren't, then you go fight for your country first, then come back and tell me that volunteering info to the enemy is a good thing and worthy of respect. Otherwise, you're just a blowhard, unwilling to put your life at risk for your country, yet willing to question the judgment of those who have. Piss off.

I've never served in the armed forces, which is why I don't pretend to understand why John McCain did what he did. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. But wasn't he given the opportunity to leave early and didn't?
