The adventures of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup

Good Evening Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

Today/night i'm going to start a journal for your and my own entertainment. I really do hope you will enjoy the show!

What you should know about the enviroment: I have a growing closet with a 400 W MH bulb and a blooming tent with a 600 W HPS bulb.

I'm using Plagron light mix soil and Flora Bloom, Micro and Gro as nutrients. The PH moderators are from Advanced Hydroponics. I have one for the bloom and one for the grow.

And now the girls:
All three of them were cut down on the 26th of October and were put into a rooting box. The success ratio was 6/10 so 60%. The survivors were 2 Buttercups (Power Plant), 2 Blossoms (Power Plant) and 2 Bubbles (White Widow). I picked one from every "group" to be a mother and one for to be the next wave for the flowering tent. (The PP and the WW are from Dutch Passion)

So now i have 6 girls, from 3 plants.

From now on the mothers are not really interesting only the ones which will end up in flowering. These are the ones i call Buttercup, Blossom and Bubbles.

They were planted in 6 liter containers a few hours ago and i only gave them plain water (of course the PH was allright. I don't have any computer aid measuring equipment so i can't give you exact data but it is always around 6.2 PH)

I'm not really sure how often i'll post in this thread but i'll trying to keep it as frequent as i can.

So grab a beer, or wine or a banana and enjoy the mighty adventures of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup!

(Oh and one more thing. Currently it looks like i'm taking the photos with a very well engineered potato but i'm trying to get a better camera!)

Buttercup (Power Plant, on the little label "PPB"): buttercup1.jpg buttercup2.jpg buttercup3.jpg

Happy Monday for Everyone!

I know it is not the best day of the week but if we look at from this angle. It's a new start, a fresh start.

So after the replantation on last Friday my girls starting to feel cozy in their containers.

I didn't water them on Saturday. On Sunday they got plain PH buffered water only and today was the day i gave them nutrition rich water. it contains Flora Bloom + Gro + Micro. 5ml/10L. I gave them around 2-3 dl each. Just a slow start.

I know you are picture hungr y so here are the princesses.

Blossom: DSC_0053.jpg DSC_0055.jpg

Buttercup: DSC_0056.jpg DSC_0057.jpg

Bubbles: DSC_0050.jpg DSC_0052.jpg

As you can see (not see) i fimmed them. At least i tried to do my best. I did it i think maybe a week ago.

And finally a picture from my whole growing closet:DSC_0059.jpg

In the future, probably on Saturday i'm going to make a few pictures about the procedure of mixing the nurtients and buffering the PH of the water. It's nothing new nothing groundbreaking just i thought why not?

Have a nice day all!

Ahoi Mates and Mateinas!

It's the sixth day of the girls after replantation and before i chopped down a few lower branches i shot some pictures just for you.

The quality of these pictures are way better. Enjoy!

I keep them on a feeding schedule with water-nutri-water-nutri etc.

I'm asking for a little advice as well. It was working for me so far that i water them with smaller amount but every day. I do not give them water until the water start oozing from the container.

What do you think is it good or bad? I could get better results with more water and a waterfree day in the schedule?

Blossom alias my White Widow: 20141127_191621.jpg 20141127_191632.jpg

Buttercup (Power Plant no. I): 20141127_191405.jpg 20141127_191418.jpg

And finally Bubbles alias Power Plant no. II:20141127_191738.jpg 20141127_191746.jpg

If you are interested in their height it's around 40 cm +-3.

And they were planted from rooted clones on the 26th of October and they were replanted on the 21th of November.

Psynapse, The title is everything and god damn do you know how to bring in a viewers. Powerpuff girls classic. The trio all looks great man, keep it up, they all look a nice healthy green and seem to still be exploding with growth. I would recommend going to bigger pots if possible.

I'm glad that there are people who get that hint in the title!

About the containers. Well the main problem is that my flowering tents dimensions are Width: 1.2m Depth: 1.2m Height: 2m.

The second thing is that i put 3 girls into flowering wait 4 weeks put another batch (3 girls) wait 4 weeks et cetera (every time there are 9 girls in the tent) and i'm guessing bigger containers would cause my ladies to grow higher. Which i could solve by training them well... Hmmm you just gave my an idea to test a round with bigger containers... :D

Yup, they are DP PP-s. And the WW is DP too! I know they are lame, mainstream strains but i wasn't too selfconfident to choose a more bitchy strain. Like Blueberry.

They are the best for coming back into growing.
lame mainstream? ive just ordered DP PP :) And I am quite excited about it

Oh yes that "lame and mainstream", i should explain that. Almost every person i know and into growing using this strain because "shit maaan those big ass buds will get me a shitload of money".
And when i'm asking them "Pal, why don't you grow only one other plant from a different strain? To experience real challenges, find another spectrum of taste and smell? Grow another strain to know how the real hard and precise work tastes like at the end."
The answer is usually this: "Don't have time" or "I don't care" or more often "If it's not yielding like this then it's a waste of my time and money."
Aaaand that's why i rather share my experiences with you guys than with them.

It is only my opinion but PP is quite stable. I'm wondering whether or not this strain could survive 3 nuclear attacks in a row :D

Well if you just ordered them this journal could be interesting for you.

Good Day!

It's the 35th day of veg phase for the ladies, 9th day since i switched to bigger pots.

The girls will be put into flowering exactly 7 days from today, so next Sunday. I have a sort of perversion to do the big milestones on Sundays.

Soo the girls are still feel great, i noticed a very little sign of nute burn so i will reduce the amount of nutes with 50%.

Two family photos of the girls with a hint of feet a small amount of pencil and an empty soil bag.

I tried super cropping them 3 days ago but damn. Two things to keep in mind:

1.) Holy crap it's harder than i thought.
2.) I still have to practice because when i thought i snapped them correctly just in 3 days they switched back into their original state and the only reminder of my failure is a purple-ish bump on the stem.

So for now i will stay at fimming.

If you have any suggestions just hit me with it! (The leaves that shows the other sides towards you is because the plants are starting to grow out my veg closet)

Have a very nice Sunday!

Grow Journal Extra Entry

Codename: Apocalypse.

We had a very rough i would say extreme weather where i live. The train which usually arrives to it's destination in an hour was delayed...a bit.

And by bit i mean only just 8 hours and when i arrived it turned out that since 4 pm we had no electricity in the whole town. I think that's the way Monday tells me "Please, go fuck yourself sweetheart"

Okay, about the plants. This power outage means that i wasn't able to control the temperature, airflow or the lights.
Which means:
  • the temperature dropped to 18 Celsius
  • the light in the veg room turned off 7 hours before it should have.
  • in the flowering room it was just an hour difference
  • the humidity spiked to 70%
So that's the story for today ladies and gentlemen. I keep observing the girls and hoping it didn't damage them.

Take care and never underestimate the enviroment that you can't control!

Damn man, i'm sorry to hear that. I don't believe the 18 celsius would hurt them. But the light cutting out 7 hour early is a possibility. I once saw a grow where the lights went from 18/6 to 12/12 for 3 days and it induced flowering. So as long as that doesn't happen you should be alright. Which room did the humidity spike to 70% in?

It was my flowering room. The main vent stopped therefore i was screwed. I have 3 girls on their 6th week of flowering. I really hope they didn't get any mold or any humidity related infection.

And the Sunday has finally come.

I was lost for the past few days, my apologies for it but i hope so i can redeem myself by sharing the latest news.

The girls moved into my flowering tent. They spent 42 days in veg state.

The lower branches were removed due to the fact that sometimes i'm still incapable of to do fimming right and the tree shape will remain.
But it's not a problem. Practice makes perfect!

Now they look like this:

Blossom (White Widow): 20141207_094449.jpg 20141207_094442.jpg

Bubbles (Power Plant): 20141207_094411.jpg 20141207_094401.jpg

Buttercup (Power Plant): 20141207_094233.jpg 20141207_094255.jpg

I realized maybe it is not the best to put in the full images into the journal entry so from now on i'll work with thumbnails.

The tent looks like this (I removed one row of plants because you couldn't see shit from them. I left the oldest plants in the tent only(back row).

The tent setup is:
  • 600 W HPS in a 125x400 cool tube
  • 425 m3/h Carbon Filter
  • 460 m3/h duct fan
  • 40 cm (diameter) vent for moving the air
and the tent is 120x120x200 cm

20141207_095159.jpg

And for last but not least the usual family photo. I packed the girls lunch and shed a few tears. Oh gosh they are growing so fast. I can't believe they are already in high school *and insert all the protecting maternal speeches you ever heard* :)

20141207_094559.jpg

And their journey has just begun...

Have a nice day!
