Yeah i am going to do a super soil mix this time and see what happens. Thanks brother. Also just wondering how much more heat that MH bulb is going to add
 
I switched to LED's a year ago. Compared to a 600w HPS i wouldnt ever go back. Same results, less heat, less electricity. I dont weigh my plants but the firs auto i grew using the led's came in at 138g dry (dwc 20 litre bucket & airstone). The strain was NYC diesel from barneys farm. Im not here to argue, im just here to share my experience and to look at pictures of nice weed :)
 
MH is a little more heat than HPS im pretty sure but they are pretty close

If you think overheating is effecting yield, then you may want to consider switching to LEDS slowly than getting a MH lamp

Well thats the thing. I already have 4 backup systems just in case. If i see them on sale i snatch them up. I also think my intake air might be to small. But there is no need to hone in on my grow spot i have now. Its my new spot i want to get perfect. I have money saved up and wanted to here peoples opinion on switching from hps to led. I think after reading all these posts and how expensive led is that i might just get better hps bulbs and do a better venting job then i have

I used to grow autos but switched to feminized a few years ago. Autos just dont have that smell and taste i am looking for. Although lemon haze auto was the bomb
 
1000 AK-47 seeds, I would look into trading some of those for a couple of different strains. Something sativa dom maybe. See how your customers like them.

I grow mainly fem Photo plants. Led will pay off in the long run, cost wise. Also no replacement bulbs needed. I used to get to my grow and have a bulb out with the hps, happened at least once a year. Now i dont have those issues. Heat was a big factor aswell. At the end of the day you have to work to your budget or your wants. I have tried both and it suits my growing situation, i have 2 setups now with the same led's
 
The only benefit to LED is cost efficiency...
Quality and yield goes genetics > light intensity > spectrum.
The claims about "perfect" or "sun like" spectrum are bullshit marketing through and through.
Look at BLACK DOG LED lol, those guys got ppl paying 2 grand for 600 watts....crazy.
 
the real point to LED that makes it worth it is if you are running a closed room and have heat issues.
Using LEDS will allow you to run less cooling, which is a huge benefit.

Imagine someone spending lots of money on air conditioning for their CO2 dialed in room
The HPS is putting off way more heat than LEDS, if this isnt easily overcome then using LEDS would help alot, reducing a ton of cost on cooling equipment

Leds help offset the cost of cooling equipment. If you are somewhere in the middle and need some heat, you can do a mixture.
Alot of growers here use CMH+ LED

I used to grow something different every grow until i got to the ak. They loved it so much that thats all i grow now. Just learning how to maximize my grow. I have grown only ak for almost 2 years now. If i switched i would never hear the end of it lol. Trust me man its worth the 125$ for 10 feminized seeds

My fear is what if i choose the wrong led light. Someone showed me a few that were 1600$ to 1000$. If i spend that and dont get a good yield i am screwed.

You will not choose the wrong one because I will tell you right now the only pre made led fixtures you want are from hlg, rapid led or any reputable company selling fixtures using Samsung 301b diodes that are now switching to the h series as Samsung innovates. Do not buy any fixture that has multi colored diodes. Those are garbage. Ask me anything you want and I'll tell you straight up.

That would make my life so much easier. Heat is always the issue and my freakin electric bill showz it
 
I like quantum boards by HLG but if you look around you can find much cheaper ones by other manufacturers. I can't say whats better but bang for buck you may want to do knock off boards if going LED for sake of initial cost investment.

HLG is a great company and has given me great customer service.

This, but real cost effectiveness comes with building your own led fixture which is not as difficult as ppl think. If someone were to build their own led fixtures for a commercial grow they'd save a shit ton..

Could you possibly send me a link of where to get them. My space is a 30x30 shed i am converting into a grow spot. That includes a 5x5 veg closet and small work space. The actual grow area will be 15x15. Plus i can make the space bigger if needed. I also need 6lb every 70 days. Roughly

Those hgl lights are 1000$
